DDF wants to help you kill-two-birds-with-one-stone – protect the skin from UV rays and help lighten spots already on the face. Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer SPF 15 contains their own Micro-Radiance Complex, which is three powerful ingredients known to lessen the look of facial flaws. I tried to find out what these three ingredients were but surprisingly couldn’t find anything online. Hmmmm. I’m guessing one is the very popular hydroquinone but I don’t know for sure. What I do know is that this one also contains vitamin A and citric acid, both of which help lighten the skin. I used this one to the last drop and it did seem to lessen the appearance of this one spot on my chin but the overall radiance it gave my skin is pretty fantastic.
And as the name states, it protects against UVA and UVB rays. I just wish this one had a higher SPF. November 15, 2008, 4:57 pm

Talk about double duty! DDF has just come out with a daily SPF moisturizer called Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer SPF 15, that actually treats hyperpigmentation and discoloration in the skin! As the name of the product indicates, it protects and corrects not only on a daily basis with sustained results with continued use over time. Hyperpigmentation which is darkness or dark spots on the face can be the result of pregnancy, birth control pill, or sun damage just to name a few. Its a concern that many woman (myself included) deals with. Dilligent use of suncreen can help prevent future damage but now we have a product that also treats existing damage!
We can't enough of this moisturizer! It is lightweight but hydrating and provides a broad spectrum UVA-UVB protection from the sun. As a general rule, its always great to buy sunscreen products that have "Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation" stamped onto the box! This one does and we absolutely love it. It's trite and true, you don't know what you've got 'till its gone. For the better part of the summer I tested ddf's protect and correct uv moisturizer spf 15 and I never once got the beauty butterflies over it. My skin looked decent but the bland silver dispenser and unscented semi-heavy cream didn't sweep me off my feet. At all. I stuck it out in the name of beauty editing fidelity - that and the inescapably sticky reality that it was, after all, summer - and a little extra SPF never hurts. Then I moved to SF. Then the reason I moved to SF fell apart and in my hurried flight back home to NC I left my DDF. I know - it's an alphabetical odyssey of beauteous proportions .
Then I cried. A lot. I am terribly happy to be home but I'm terribly sad I left my DDF and some other invaluable beauty products in SF. Products that have memory and meaning and yes, I'm entirely too attached to my products. In retrospect here is what I love about ddf's protect and correct uv moisturizer spf 15. 1) It is reliable, delivering every promise plainly printed upon it's packaging. 2) Nary a blackhead grew during the entirety of said beauty odyssey 3) I'm usually a sucker for sparkly bells and whistles but the beauty of this product lays quietly within the formula itself- a real scientist's product that slowly improved every aspect of my skin. 4) It's the marrying type - although not extremely impressive at first glace, it gets sweeter with every encounter. DDF Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer SPF 15 ($58)- A facial moisturizer with a Micro-Radiance Complex that diminishes the look of discoloration for even, translucent, healthy looking skin. Contains SPF 15 to protect from UVA/UVB damage and future hyperpigmentation.
I have noticed that over the years I've developed some tiny brown spots along the bridge of my nose and cheeks. I'm not usually very good at always wearing sunscreen. So I'm paying for it now. I was pretty excited to use this. It's a little stickier than I like but it has no real smell, which is good. I started using it in the end of the summer and thought it was too heavy, so I'm going to try again now when the weather gets colder. Overall it dries nicely with no funny feel and moisturizes. I can't say if it actually helps with making the brown spots disappear. They look about the same to me. I like it as a daily moisturizer in the morning but $58 is pretty pricey.

A coworker told a story recent about her mom getting a small skin cancer removed.
The scariest part? Her doctor told her that she probably was exposed so much simply due to driving in her car and the sun through the window.
So, when a daily moisturizer with SPF showed up at my door, I lunged at it.
Despite my fear motivator, I've been really pleased with the moisturizer, DDF Correct and Protect UV Moisturizer SPF 15. It definitely has that sunblock smell, which is making me a little wistful now that it's fricking freezing out. However, I did get a little overzealous one morning and used a little too much. Bad idea. I ended up having to blot with a tissue while running out the door. Use sparingly!
Best of all, I know that I am putting on sunscreen every morning. And that makes the day a little easier to face.

I was fortunate enough to get into my hands DDF Protect and Correct UV Moisturizer! This beautiful little pump bottle is a fantastic cream. DDF stands for “Doctor’s Dermatologic Formula” and smoothing this rich cream on, I knew that it was protecting my skin from the every day harmful rays of not only the sun shining down on my face, but damage I had done before. This bottle promises to help you save your skin from future discolourations that many women and men face in their older age that may lead to skin cancer and sever skin discrepancies – Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation!
So, ladies, do yourselves a favour - Save your skin before it’s too late. And don’t think that in the winter time you’re free from wearing UVA and UVB screens! Year round, if your face is outside, you should be wearing protection. End of story.
This is a daytime moisturizer, so don’t waste it by using Protect and Correct before bedtime. Apply in the morning, under your make-up. October 23, 2008, 1:29 pm

Unlike most sunscreens, this contains a micro-radiance complex that claims to correct discoloration while preventing further damage caused by UVA/UVB rays. It goes on slightly greasier than most moisturizers and takes quite a while to sink in completely. On my dehydrated combination skin, it leaves behind a semi-dewy finish, but on those with oily skin, it may look greasy. I have some freckles on my cheeks and discoloration around my mouth and I did not see any difference after using the product religiously for a month. The SPF 15 is also a little too low for my taste. So even though I do like the idea of a 2-in-1 product, this is not worth the $58. October 17, 2008, 10:41 am

We have used DDF Protect and Correct Moisturizer with SPF 15 for two weeks as our daytime lotion. It is designed to moisturize, protect your skin from the sun and correct hyper pigmentation problems. It was an effective moisturizer, not too heavy; it contains SPF 15 to protect from UVA and UVB rays which is sufficient for us in the fall, but wouldn't have been high enough in the summer; and regarding the lightening effects, there was not a significant difference with our sun damage (mostly freckles). Other notable characteristics of the lotion are its smell, it definitely has a sunscreen smell to it which lingers for a while after application. We expect that from our products that have over an SPF 30 because we figure the manufacturers are using something strong to protect your skin; but we have plenty of products from powders to tinted moisturizer to lipstick with SPF 15 that don't have an odor. Also, the product goes on with a shine which looks slightly greasy. This doesn't affect us, because we layer on other products that nullify the shine; but expect the effect if you're one that wears less makeup. Will we continue to use it? Yes, it is a quality product and curiosity as to the lightening and correcting claims makes us want to use it longer in hopes that it we'll see improvement. October 14, 2008, 6:34 am
