Neutrogena's Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads are in fact "extra gentle," which makes sensitive eyes very happy. The non-drying, non-greasy formula leaves lids feeling clean, but removing waterproof mascara can be a little tricky. (I had to use a pad at night and another in the morning.) For non-waterproof mascara, the pads work perfectly. Tip: They are fairly large, so you may be able to get away with cutting them in half, which means you get twice as many pads in one jar.

    I had extremely sensitive skin, especially around my eyes. So many other eye make-up removers I've tried caused stinging and dryness, but not this one. I don't wear a lot of eye makeup, but generally wear mascara, and a little shadow. This product indeed does the trick as long as you are not wearing waterproof mascara.     These plush, cushiony pads are indeed extra gentle on dry, irritated eyes. They weren't as damp as I expected, but after a few minutes of rubbing my non-waterproof eye makeup was gone. I wouldn't trust these pads with waterproof mascara or eyeliner. Tip: add just a few drop of water to the bottom of the container to keep th...e pads from drying out over time. May 19, 2009, 9:54 am

    I love these eye makeup remover pads. I used to buy those typical oil-based eye make up removers in a bottle and dribble it onto a cotton round to get my eye make up off, and it always left an oily residue all over my eyes that stung until I washed my whole face. These pads are totally different: The solution is not oily... or greasy at all, it leaves your eye area totally clean and fresh feeling. And one pad is usually enough to take off all my eye make up, even layers of eyeshadow and a thick coat of waterproof mascara. This product works wonders. November 3, 2009, 2:50 pm

    Perhaps too gentle

    I was excited to try these makeup remover pads on my short vacation--they are ideal for taking in your carry-on since they aren't a liquid. I recently had LASIK surgery, too, so I liked that the pads were soft and the remover gentle. However, I found that the formula was too gentle for how lightly I had to use the pad on my... eyelids. (You can't rub your eyes for two months after your surgery.) I have not tried the pads since my vacation, but I will try to rub harder once my two-month restriction is over and see whether they are more effective then. The pads did remove most of my makeup, but I still felt like my makeup wasn't thoroughly removed. At any rate, I recommend this product for travel, but be prepared to rub pretty hard to fully remove all your makeup. September 3, 2009, 8:28 am

    The pads are plush but the edges seem a little rough to me. I wish the pads were wetter so I agree with the member who said to add a few drops of water to the bottom of the container, and every now and then flip the pads over so the bottom pads are used first. This remover does a decent job in removing most types of eye m...akeup, though takes some effort to remove waterproof formulas. I don't think I will purchase these again. August 8, 2009, 6:18 am

    because theyre so soft and gentle and since theyre not too wet your not dousing your eyes with oily make up remover. The texture is just the type of thing youd want to be rubbing your make up off with, unlike some others that with excessive rubbing irritates and sometimes burns your eyes. These are worth it for the money t...o me and do a great job taking off your eye make up quickly. May 27, 2009, 2:30 am

    A good product but...

    its just not moist enough for me. When I opened the container, I loved the thickness of it but it felt practically dry. It does remove the makeup but I prefer something where I can feel the product in the pad. This fell short there, but did great in all other factors. May 25, 2009, 7:44 pm

    Too gentle for waterproof mascarra

    I like the gentleness of the product-it is not at all irritating like others on the market. Although, it did not completely remove my waterproof mascarra (washable mascarra ok). After 5 pads, I gave up. Also, the pads dry up over time. Save your money if you want these for waterproof mascarra. May 19, 2009, 5:02 pm
