Editor Review

Rated a 3.5

First, the pros: Blistex Lip Infusion Moisture Splash gives lips a slick, wet look, is inexpensive and is available at almost any drugstore. The cons: One application lasts about 20 minutes if you're lucky, and once it dries up, lips feel more parched than before application. Plus, the liquid formula doesn't taste good -- a bummer since it easily slides off lips and into your mouth. And though the formula contains SPF, the protection is questionable since the formula dries so quickly. A much better buy: Blistex Silk & Shine.

THE DESCRIPTION SAYS "The advanced formula in Lip Infusion’s Moisture Splash keeps your lips feeling moist, smooth and healthy." BUT ONLY WHILE YOU'RE WEARING IT...YEAH IT FEELS GREAT PUTTING IT ON BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD A LIP BALM DRY MY LIPS OUT MORE THAN BLISTEX LIP INFUSION...IF YOU'RE GOING FOR A GREAT SHINE ...THEN BY ALL MEANS, INFUSE AWAY, BUT IF YOU WANT A LIP BALM THAT LIVES UP TO IT'S PROMISES TRY IT'S COUSIN BLISTEX SILK April 24, 2008, 8:55 am

    Not too great

    by Lekimn (5 reviews)
I bought this on a wim, just to try it out because of the roller ball and I needed a good balm. It feels cooling when you first apply it, and I won't lie, the whole roller ball idea was fun. However, it leaves too much product on your lips, and makes your lips very glossy. Not to worry though, since the product dries awa...y... also leaving your lips drier than they were before. The taste wasn't all great; bitter mint. For the price, it's not worth it. You can do without this product and find a much better quality balm for cheaper. September 18, 2009, 3:26 pm

    Okay, but not my favorite

I liked the feel of this (very smooth since it's a liquid), but I didn't like the taste or the fact that I felt like I was "eating" more of it than I usually do with solid lip balms. My husband actually prefers this to some others because he hates the waxy feel of most lip balms and it won't melt on you when hiki...ng in hot weather or if it's left in the car. I agree with other reviewers though that frequent application is necessary, which is annoying. August 20, 2009, 7:09 am

    Not a repurchase for me!

    by hkrnpma (14 reviews)
Pros: Ill give them credit for the innovative roller. Cons: the roller applicator is useless because the formula is not moisturizing to the lips. It feels greasy when you apply it and and wears off in minutes and leaves your lips drier than before. November 8, 2009, 7:29 am

    Dried out my lips!

    by cattwmn (6 reviews)
There ARE pros: The applicator delivers a smooth layer of product, it feels nice at FIRST. After about 15 min - lips feel DRYER than before applying! I also don't like the 'fruit' scent. Those of us with allergies to flying stinging insects can not wear products with fruit scents! I plead with companies to stop with th...e fruit or make an 'unscented' choice available. I tried it in the winter, when bees were not about. August 10, 2009, 12:38 pm

I was sick and tired of melted lip balm in my car tray

    by woundrn (5 reviews)
I was sick and tired of melted lip balm in my car tray. This product nicely solves that problem, doesn't melt all over because the container is designed to hold a liquid, yes frequent application is necessary, but still worth it for an in the car product, use wax based or salve based the rest of the time, but much better t...han licking your lips in the car May 13, 2009, 1:31 am

    Useless at moisturizing

This is not very moisturizing and doesn't work as a lip balm at all. It does feel great on the lips and I have the cherry flavor and it smells amazing. The roller ball is great and feels awesome when applying. Maybe as a gloss over lipstick. April 22, 2009, 2:30 pm

    DO NOT waste your money!

    by novemberrainn (4 reviews)
I bought this in the Cherry flavor, thinking that the roll-on applicator was really neat. Once I put it on my lips, I was so disgusted - The product ran straight into my mouth, and it had the worst possible taste that was kind of like nasty cherry medicine. I threw it out my car window. Too wet, bad taste.

    by soulbypass (3 reviews)
I did NOT like the taste of this product AT ALL! It was also SO wet and runny, it would keep on seeping into my mouth which was gross. April 4, 2009, 8:42 am

This is a terrible product, stick with the tried and true stick balms.

    by bluedevilkitty (154 reviews)

I bought this product and was terribly disappointed. It only lasts to your lips for about 5 minutes, doesn't moisturize at all, and is too runny to even be a gloss! Definitely does not provide 'deep hydration' nor does it have a 'penetrating formula.' I will not be buying this product again, and will be sticking with solid ...balm sticks in the future for real moisturizing. February 17, 2009, 7:06 pm
