For dry, rough hands, it's got the right moisturizing oils (linseed, almond, cocoa butter and glycerin) to soften and smooth, but it doesn't absorb quickly and slicks up anything you touch. (Don't plan on operating heavy machinery.) The musty scent is reminiscent of a protein bar, and the pump on our travel size stopped working. Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Lotion is more effective and a better value.

Surprisingly good smell and great lotion!

I would normally not spend $20 on hand (and body) lotion, but was so entranced by the smell I just had to! I have several Lush products as well as some bath salts that have a strong rose smell and have been searching for a lotion that also smells like roses but not in a grandma kinda way : ) This lotion is just that-the s...mell of roses but not old and musty-more like a wet garden. It's also great that is supports charity and works really well. Try keeping it in the fridge and using it after a hot bath-esp nice in the Summer-time! my only caveat is that it IS a bit pricey... 100% of the proceeds from every sale go to charity!

How can you NOT love a product which donates a 100% of the proceeds of sales (minus tax) directly to worthy causes!? I'd buy Lush Charity Pot - a beautiful albeit a bit greasy hand & body cream - perfect for the cold winter months when your hands get chapped in dry climates (think Colorado!). At first it took me a bit... of time to get used to the fact that it takes a while for this cream to actually absorb, but after that is done - my hands have NEVER felt better (I haven't tried it on the body, because I actually need it most on my hands). Highly recommended - you get a gorgeous Lush product, plus all $20 that this cream costs you goes straight to charity! This cream is a bit on the expensive side, but after reading all the ingredients that went into it and from where, and considering the fact that every single Lush product, including Charity Pot is 100% hand made - I give this one a straight 10!!! All natural is never cheap, but it's almost always good, and good for you! "This luxurious hand and body lotion is made with fairly traded cocoa butter from projects in the Ivory Coast & Dominican Republic. It also contains a blend of geranium, tagetes and ylang ylang essential oils to heal and cleanse, and almond oil to leave skin soft and smooth. Charity Pot not only nourishes the skin, it leaves it smelling divine too." February 20, 2008, 5:17 am

How to make LUSH Charity Pot lotion more easily absorbed

      by LotionGirl (1 review)
Here's a great tip for those of you that find that LUSH's Charity Pot lotion doesn't absorb very quickly. When you get out of the shower/bath, don't dry yourself off. Your body should still be wet, but as soon as you wipe away the excess water apply a dab of lotion onto your body. The water that is already on your skin wi...ll thin it out even more so that it spreads over each section of your body. It'll still look wet, but in about 5 minutes it will totally absorb into your body leaving a soft, non-sticky/oily feeling. I've found that it leaves me feeling soft all day. Plus, because the lotion is thinned down, it lasts longer. Give it a try and see for yourself. It's helped with my dry skin problems as well as cutting down on the amount of money I've spent trying to get rid of these problems! January 4, 2009, 2:14 pm

It is one of few hand treatments that defintely help my very dry winter hands, & the scent reminds me of a warm place. December 8, 2007, 2:15 pm
