    The Best

    by cjcyogini (3 reviews)
When I started using Creme de la Mer several years ago, I felt guilty spending so much on a moisturizer, but after my first jar, I was hooked forever. I have very dry skin, and this product is the only moisturizer I've ever found that really seems to make a difference. It sinks into my skin more than other products seem t...o and then has staying power. Since I've been using Creme de la Mer, my skin has noticeably improved, has fewer lines, and is less irritated. The product does not clog pores and is good to use with anti-aging products like Retin-A that are effective but drying. November 26, 2007, 6:02 pm

I no longer use La Mer

    by Kittiepink (5 reviews)
I have been a La Mer user for about 6 years. I used it out of habit and because my friends use it. It was not really anything spectacular but I don't have the time and energy to run around and try different products. It did okay. I am at the age where I really want more anti-aging results not promises. A friend of mine... recommended Dior's L'Or de Vie serum and creme. I truly see better results and the woman at the Dior counter gave me a brochure about the clinical tests and the publication in the medical dermatological journal about L'or de Vie. It was really impressive. La Mer never gave me anything close to this. May 7, 2008, 8:15 am

    No Miracle but Excellent Moisturizer

    by Caribbean_Queen (12 reviews)
While I do not consider there to be any miracle in this product it is one of the best moisturizers (if not the best) on the market. I have very sensitive skin that is also acne prone and oily (nothing easy there). I waited some time prior to trying CDLM as many reviewers reported that it is heavy. I am very happy with th...e cream and will continue to purchase. No break-outs, no irritation. Just soft and radiant skin. Well done. January 28, 2008, 4:23 am

    Save Your Duckets

I hate being Debbie Downer, but I tried this, gave it a month's test-drive, did my research, and can only give this a rating of 5. Yes, it does moiturize, and yes, sometimes there is nothing better than a placebo -- which in my first few days I wanted to believe this product would be the answer to anti-aging -- but this ...so-called "cult moisturizer/miracle broth" didn't have any significant effect on my skin. (I have been using high-end products for a long time, so I don't always expect to see dramatic results." With ingredients such as sea kelp, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, lecithin, Vitamins C, E and B12, plus oils of citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa, and sunflower, it is a lovely concoction, but for over $150, save your duckets. According to La Mer, the "miracle broth is distilled and fermented in a special method for 3-4 months and it's the fermentation that gives the broth special oomph. Fermatation my skin! Again, save your duckets. May 19, 2008, 8:00 am

I read all the reviews before purchasing. Here is mine!

I (like everyone else) have heard of celebrities using La Mer, and it completely peaked my interest. I decided to read reviews on it before trying a sample. I read all of the ones on here, and decided to give it a try. I have only used it for two nights in a row and already the wrinkles around my eyes are less defined. I a...m only 25, but I have extremely dry skin and am wrinkling already. My skin feels plumper and more radiant. I still have a few dry spots on one of my cheeks, but I have only used it twice!! It was so helpful to read the reviews on how to use the product. I have a feeling a few of the negative reviews are because people don't know how to correctly apply it. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingers until it feels warm (about 15 seconds) It will help it go on easier, and it supposedly activates the ingredients. Then, instead of smoothing it on, pat it all over the skin. Mine absorbed that way, but after you pat, you can then smooth it. I am using it only as a night cream because I use a glycolic acid cream (an exfoliant) and a sunscreen during the day for my dry skin, but I am now using it as my eye cream for the day time! I have a feeling it is going to make a huge difference in the way I have been feeling about my premature wrinkles. I already feel more confident! February 6, 2008, 5:14 pm

    Fantastic Moisturizer for Dry Skin

    by beautyqueen66 (12 reviews)
I love this product. When I use it I get so many compliments on my skin. While it is true that you only need a tiny amount I can only afford it from time to time. I have dry, sensitive skin and it even keeps my eczema at bay. It really is best for dry skin and my friends who have normal/oily skin found it way too heavy.... But it is a decadent cream and your skin feels wonderful after you put it on. It really does help with fine lines and the texture of your skin. I just wish I could afford it all the time! This Stuff Spoiled Me!

    by Woostergraph (7 reviews)
There was a time when I could afford this wonderful cream! Even my Husband noticed a difference after one use. I was hooked. Then something happened and my financial situation changed and so did everything else. Now I beg samples from wherever I can because NOTHING is as good a Creme de la Mer! I manage to make due wit...h other brands but if I could have one more jar of Creme de la Mer, I would be a very happy woman! It takes years off your skin. So soft and smooth and the best part, healthy! Perhaps Santa will hear my plea this year. Just one more jar! November 29, 2007, 6:00 pm

Good, but not worth the money

    by malice98 (5 reviews)
I fell for the whole "you get what you pay for" for a little while when it comes to La Mer. I think I used 3 containers of the product before I figured out that I a lot of other products do just as much for a lower cost. I've heard great things about the La Mer concentrate. I would really love to be able to get a ...free sample of it though, before I drop all that cash on the product. April 22, 2008, 11:32 am

My friends think I had a face lift.

    by Stefoosh (15 reviews)
Almost true...my father bought me some La Mer and I have been using it for about 1 month. Since then I have noticed a huge difference in my face. I keep saying it looks as though I have drank 8 glasses of water without drinking the water. I have only been using it at night since it's so expensive and pretty thick and I am w...orried that my face might look a little oily if I used it during the day. I will be considering the oil free version for the summer/day time. Overall I think it's worth the money for the way my face has changed. April 18, 2008, 9:04 am

    Worth every penny!

    by sammycatgirl (1 review)
I have used this product for 5 years. I will not allow myself to run out. It plumps up your skin like no other moisturizer can. If you use it religously, it will prevent fines lines from appearing. Of course, I also stay out of the sun and have very good skin habits, but you know what I mean. I am always open to new things,... however, I have found nothing to compare. Also, I still get carded (no joke) and I am 41 years old. Thanks La Mer! April 2, 2008, 1:24 pm

  • The miracle Even now, it is not entirely clear how Creme de la Mer works. For us schooled in logic, it is something of a jolt to the imagination. But facts are facts and certainly the proof can be seen on the faces of those who use it. In a short time, skin becomes softer, firmer, looks virtually creaseless. Aging lines and pores are noticeably less visible. Even the driest of complexions are healed. Sensitivities are soothed. And, of course, there are some who insist it has produced astonishing results - as Dr. Max Huber witnessed. No wonder many who have tried every cream available remain steadfast in their devotion to Crrme de la Mer.
