Surge Is Not the Right Term
The name Colour Surge is kind of an oxymoron for this product considering that there are more mixing medium ingredients than pigment itself. I find making dramatic smokey eyes with this requires a few layers to get a better color payoff but it is a decent price to pay for a higher end up makeup item but the quality should also be up to par to hyperpigmented formulas like MAC. Good matte, but pricey
Like other reviewers I find the lack of color options very disappointing in this line. And like all Clinique shadows I find the color saturation is only average. The positives is that they go on evenly, last long with the use of a primer and are non-irritating. I also like the velvets because I can also use them as an eyeliner with my eyeliner brush.
