Editor Review

Rated a 7.5

Lip balm lovers looking to up their glam factor should try Aveda Lip Tint. It has all the qualities you love in a balm: SPF 15, moisture and a convenient tube. Each of eight stain-like colors contains slight shimmer that lasts a few hours but doesn't hold up to eating and drinking. You may not like the waxy scent, but the combination of moisturizers like mango butter and organic babassu, jojoba and avocado oils means you won't sacrifice softness to give lips color.

    The perfect winter accessory

    by adgirl (6 reviews)
Winter doesn't stand a chance against this product. Aveda lip tint is a great moisterizer for the lips with just the right amount of color. I've tried all the colors and Peony is my favorite. Apricot is a little too orange. Most of the colors can be used with all skin colors. The frosted ones seem a little drier than the ot...hers, but still do the job. I use this in place of my regular lipsticks in the winter. December 11, 2007, 9:15 am

    Just the perfect tint!

This is one product I always keep in my bag because I love the subtle tint it gives. I have one in Apricot which naturally enhances my lip coloring without looking like it's painted on. Great for daytime wear when you want just a flush of color to your lips. As an added bonus, it has a sunscreen it it which is very impor...tant to me. Keeps my lips moisturized and I liked the way it felt. Can be put in your pocket for re-application. May 13, 2009, 12:56 am

I have 4 tubes of this stuff!!!

Not only are the colors VERY complimentary to a wide array of skin tones, but it has extra SPF. I LOVE this stuff and own Peony, Copper, Apricot, and Spice. Replace all of those colorless tubes of Chapstick with One (if not more b/c they are addictive) tube of the Aveda Lip Tint SPF 15. May 29, 2008, 6:49 am

    Aveda Lip Tint A Must!

    by cdrodgers (6 reviews)
I have been using Aveda products (hair, skin and makeup) for years. Of all of their lip sticks I find the Lip Tints to be the most moisturizing and long lasting. I receive complements on my lip shades every day for friends and strangers. I highly recommend Aveda Lip Tints and you are sure to find at least one in your col...or preference. Missing Currant - But Still a Good Lip Tint

    by katiehammerman (45 reviews)

I used to really like Aveda's Lip Tint in Currant, which looked kind of dark and purple-red in the container, but went on very sheer and pretty, but that color was discontinued. I have the lip tint in Berry and Peony which are both okay, but neither one is quite as good as Currant. I like this product but don't love it; I'm... really picky about lip tint and this delivers a little bit too much color for me and sits a little to heavily on my lips (rather than absorbing). And it doesn't replace my all time favorite lip tint, L'Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm in Blackberry (also discontinued). Aveda Lip Tint is a good back-up for when I want a little more color, but I usually stick with my Dr. Pepper chapstick and call it a day. :) November 4, 2009, 11:59 am

Good for those looking for a lipstick.

I bought this thinking it would be a type of tinted balm--boy was I surprised when I tried out the 'pink' shade Berry. It's very opaque just like a lipstick, and a bit waxy. It's a nice colour, though, but not quite what I was looking for. I wouldn't say it moisturizing but it's not terribly dry either. The SPF is good, tho...ugh and I love Aveda's business ethics and commitment to the environment. It has a nice rosy scent and a minty taste. It lasts for a few hours, and I highly recommend that you try out the colour in the store before purchasing. Oh, and grab a lip liner while you're at it. August 21, 2009, 2:47 pm

    Kinda waxy

It is a great moisturizer for your lips and that is the best part about this product. I do not care for the shimmery look that it gives either. June 16, 2009, 12:30 pm

    Lucious Lips

    by OhMandy (130 reviews)

This is a wonderful lip balm and a very good lip color. It moisurizes and prevents flaking of color and leaves lips really soft. There are some great colors too-they are just lighter than they appear on the tube cover. That is type of tinted lip balm though. The taste could honestly be better but I like it.
