  I Won't Be Missing This At All

  My absolute honest opinion about this eyeshadow is that it's a hit or miss. Some pigments show more lively than others but I felt that the formula wasn't well pressed so loose powder would ruin my complexion with fall out during application. Fortunately, these are one of the easier eyeshadows to wipe away but that also s...ays a lot about the wear which is that it fades quickly. After a couple hours, I decided to touch up in the lady's room with a bit of blot powder for my shine, I noticed that the Maybelline eyeshadow just left a faint wash of color that didn't look so appealing. My eyes were no longer defined with them but sort of just washed with one color unevenly because when it gets blended with any oils in the skin, you can pretty much say goodbye to it. Needless to say, this did build up on me and the collected particles of color made it seem like I drew a line of color on the crease of my eyelid and forgot about shading the rest. The matte colors are more tamed than all the other finishes and if used with a primer, the outcome isn't so bad nor does it crease as much but quite often the color in the case will create some deception as soon as it is applied, some colors are better than others.   LOVE IT!

  I love this stuff. I got a brown color and use it for my eyebrows because they are invisible as I am very fair haired, and my beautician recommended I use a powder instead of a pencil as it will look more natural. And it does! December 14, 2007, 8:53 pm

  The perfect little single

  This eye shadow is wondeful if you are only wanting to apply one color for your everyday look. I love the taupe, because it can go with everything. It is the perfect shade that most people can wear. You can wear it by itself or for a more dramatic look add another color from the variety of colors available.   Nice pigment

  I bought the color turquoise jewel thinking it wouldent go very good with my skin tone or dark hair, i was wrong. I wet the sponge tip applicator and put in on over my black liner so it looked like i had a sexy bluish green sparkley liner. It looked awesome. April 2, 2008, 11:03 am

  i bought the green color shown on this page thinking it was a really pretty color. it ended up making me look ill. also, the quality of the powder isn't very good. if you use too little, the color doesn't show and if you use more, it looks heavy and overdone. February 8, 2008, 10:58 am

  These eye shadows are definitely my favorite from the drugstore. I love the color range and the shimmer is perfect since I prefer a shimmer to a matte anyday. I found 2 new favorite shades and 2 others that are great as well. The darker colors are awesome for a smoky eye look and the lighter shades look great all the way ar...ound the eye.   love the color

  I have hazel eyes and #160 Emerald brings out the green in my eyes. It goes on smooth and it's soft and matte looking. You do have to be careful to blow the excess off the applicator because it does tend to flake on my cheeks a little if I don't. December 15, 2007, 3:49 pm

  not maybelline's best.

  I love maybelline quads. I just dont think these single shadows have as much pigmentation as the quads. I would still buy these if I wanted a specific color but otherwise I would just buy a quad. October 25, 2009, 8:27 am

  I like the color when it goes on but I feel like I look like a clown after! I have to apply so much just to get any color and by the time I do it all falls on my cheeks or gets stuck in the lashes, it gets every where and with the dark midnight shade I bought it wasn't a good thing. It's not worth the price I feel like I ...got this out of one of the cheap-o make up kits that Walmart sells at Christmas. Spend the extra few bucks on something better ladies this stuff falls short on too many levels. I don't even want to give it a star. October 22, 2009, 11:05 am

  Beach Blush, Silken Taupe, Amethyst

  I only have three of these but I struck gold with all the colors. The first I tried was a limited edition summer collection single called Beach Blush. It was the last color left in the display and I seriously debated putting it back because it looked similiar to CoverGirl's Tapestry Taupe, but lighter. It was so cheap I got... it anyway and am glad I did because it is much more pigmented than I expected. Silken Taupe is a nice light, yes, taupe with a pretty strong shimmer going on, very pretty as an all over shade or just a highlight. Amethyst is a a bright medium purple with a blue duochrome, also the same color found in the Amethyst Smokes Quad. With the L'oreal Decrease primer these do not crease or fade too much.
