This is a little expensive but it is worth it! I love the many colors especially the red/gold pair. Very sex lips! I bought this solely because it was $10 for one at Sephora...so naturally I had to get 2 (Turkish Delight Gloss/Sayonara Stain and Stolen Kisses Gloss/Pampa Stain). I already owned a Nars lipgloss, which I love, so I knew I'd like this. I have yet to try the stains, and I will definitely take heed of the advice people give in this reviews as to not deposit too much color and use it very sparingly. The 2 glosses are awesome thus far though. Turkish Delight is a nice, pale, non-shimmery (which is very important to me) pink color, which would look amazing with a smoky eye. Stolen Kisses is a dark nude with a hint of rose and looks great with everyday makeup and at work. Would I spend more than $10 on this? I have the red/gold combo and love it but do wish it did last a little longer. Had to reapply a few times during the day. You don't need much of the stain because of the saturated color. Ok but color is pretty heavy and opaque

When I think of stains, I think of Benetint, Stainiac or Vincent Longo. I wouldn't really call this a stain. It's more like a very heavy, highly pigmented lip gloss. In "heavy", I mean colorwise, not necessarily consistency. I got the colors Turkish Delight/Sayonara. On me, the color combo looks like a dark rose with a hint of brown. Not bad but not really my type. It's extremely easy to get too much of the product on your lips using the applicator that comes with it. I had to put a small dot in the middle of my lower lips and blend with my fingers in order for it not to look unnatural, garish and cakey. The "gloss" part of this combo feels a bit goopy and sticky. I'd rather wear just the color or "stain" and top it off with a clear lip balm or even chapstick. The color doesn't last long on me at all. I would say about 30-40 min. and that's without eating or drinking anything during that time. For a stain, it just doesn't quite cut it as it doesn't really 'stain" the lips like a real stain would. Instead, it sits on top of the lips as opposed to "sinking" into the lips. For a lipgloss, it's pretty good, especially if you're into glosses with a lot of pigmentation. But for me, I prefer a gloss with a semi sheer to sheer finish instead of an opaque or matte finish. I have the combo in Moon Fleet/Indian Red, and at first I was kind of schocked how the color goes on. It was reminicsent of tomato soup, but afer about 5 min. the color settled into a lovely red. I love Nars lip products for their pretty, shimmery colors but I wasn't too impressed with this. I found the gloss to be way too sticky and not shiny or smooth enough, and even for a gloss the durability leaves a lot to be desired. For pretty color and smooth shine I prefer Lorac Mocktails.
