I loved this long-wearing gel liner and eye shadow when I bought it, but once it dried out, it was useless. Keep the lid tight on the solid little pot whenever it's not in use. (If it dries anyway, scrape off the top layer to see if any moist liner is beneath.) With a firm texture between powder and liquid, this liner is best drawn on with an angled liner or smudge brush. (Fingers are OK if you're not being precise.)

    absolutely loved this product when i first bought it. went on smoothly, easy to smudge within the first minute, and stayed on all day without creasing. however, within a few months, the product becomes dried out, even when the lid is kept on between applications to each eye, and becomes difficult, if not impossible, to ap...ply. i won't buy again until they figure out how to correct this. it's an expensive product that's not worth it for the amount of time you can use it before it dries out.     I bought this hoping that it would improve my tightlining attempts. Nope. It's too dry, and because my eyes are so deepset, it smudges wayyyy too much. I could see using it for a smoky eye, but the whole tightlining thing is out--the texture just isn't right. I'll keep using my Prestige waterproof pencil. June 11, 2008, 2:13 pm

    This stuff gets hard and unusable fast

    When I tried the smudge pot on at the department store I loved it. It created a nice line and could be blended easy for an ultra, smokey look. After only a few weeks (maybe even less than that), the product started to harden, resulting in a crumbly, unusable mess. What a waste! October 27, 2007, 12:58 pm

    Should be crack pots. Does go on smoothly, but dries out way too soon, and the container itself dries out even when capped tightly. This is a pass on it, for me at least. May 14, 2008, 7:55 am

    Not only did this eyeliner flake all the time, but it dries up very quickly. Stick to the HIP gel liners or MAC fluidlines, they are way better. May 14, 2008, 12:47 pm

    Best long wearing eyeliner, hands down!

    I love, love, LOVE this eyeliner! I will never go back to using pencil again. A lot of people don't "get" how to use or care for this product, so here it is (I used to work for stila so I'm very familiar with how the product works): 1. KEEP THE LID ON TIGHT - this avoids any dryout. I've never had a problem with... it drying out or crumbling, but you must understand that keeping the lid on is important b/c of the formulation. It is meant to be a long-wearing formula and meant to dry quickly. 2. Apply with an eyeliner brush (stila's precision eyeliner brush works great). Using a q-tip or your finger just won't cut it if you are trying to create a nice clean line. 3. Create your eye design quickly (within 2 minutes). Again, b/c of the "quick drying" formula, this product doesn't go anywhere after it's dried. It takes about 2 minutes or less to fully dry once you've applied it. If you are creating a smoky eye or a smudged look, do that right after you draw the line on. Once this eyeliner dries it isn't going anywhere until you take it off with remover. That's what I love about it! You don't have to worry about your liner ending up all under your eyes or all over the place. If you take good care of this product, it will last you a long time and you WILL love it! ENJOY! February 15, 2008, 6:27 am
