Maybe I got a bad batch.

December 7, 2007, 8:33 am I was very excited to see this on Sephora's website. I love the scent of coconut, and thought that it would be a nice scrub for summer. When I opened the jar, I was not impressed with the scent. Something about it seemed... off. It almost smelled as if it had gone, well, not quite rancid, but just on the verge of rancid. Thinking that it just needed to be mixed and that the scent would improve in the shower, I decided to use it anyway. The scent improved a little, but it never became that tasty coconut scent that I was after. It still softened like Philosophy scrubs do, but I will pass on ever buying this particular scent again.4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I've tried many different scrubs and this one meets my needs and leaves my legs smooth and ready to better absord whatever moisturizer I'm using at the moment. The Gingerbread Man scrub is oil-free and the exfoliating salt bits are big. It doesn't take a lot of effort to slough off unsightly flakes. Perfect for those who want a really substantial scrub. The scent is also very pleasant. It smells of ginger ale, not actual gingerbread, which makes it an every day staple as opposed to holiday indulgence.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I'm a repeat customer for this product.

I loved it from the first try. As another reviewer mentioned, it does wake me up in the morning and it seems to help me breathe when my nose is stuffy. I will echo the warning to keep it away from more sensitive areas of the body, and I will add to never try this on your face. This stuff will make your bathroom smell divine. Your body will love it, and your feet and legs will really love it if they're tired. If you love mint, you may really love this scrub. Try it with the body butter for more tingly, soft, minty goodness!3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Change the scent!

November 29, 2007, 4:57 pm I have never really used many of this brand's products. I once received one of their "three in one" something-or-other Cinnamon Buns wash, and liked it, so I thought I'd give it a go with this one. Anyhow, I have to agree with others that I also thought that this was supposed to smell like gingerbread; it actually smells more like a weak sort of ginger (if you want real ginger, try Origins, their product is very good). For this reason alone I would fault the product, along with the fact that unless you rub it on while dry, it won't get warm (as it claims it should, being a "hot salt scrub"); however, not everybody enjoys the texture of salt-rubs, they can be painful. I used this with warm water instead. It did the job as it said, so there's one good point. The benefits of this scrub? It has some good ingredients like sea salt, plankton extract, kelp, algae extract, bladderwrack, and caramel. But I would advise Philosophy, that, in the future, not to mislead customers who thought this product was going to actually smell like gingerbread. This company is cruelty-free.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Smells Yummy!

I have the Senorita Margarita scrub and it smells divine! Just like a real margarita. Yum! I'm sure I'll get used to it though. The grains are nice and big and I feel like my skin is getting a really good exfoliating. I'm going to buy the matching body lotion... This is my first Philosophy product, but it won't be my last!2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

One of the best scrubs I've used
by Careygram (6 reviews)I love the scent but I love the scrub too. It's meant to be used dry but you can use it wet or dry and it gives you a good bit of friction, which I prefer, and no suds. I use it dry before my bath and it really gets my circulation going. My legs feel warm after I scrub and I never have dry skin on my legs. The jar is big and heavy and a little goes a long way so the jar lasts a long time and the scent lingers too. Over all one of the best scrubs I've used.2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
