bareMinerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil Reviews

i think they changed the formula.
this stuff used to be shimmery and a sort of a highlighter, but now it's a matte, oil absorbing powder. My primer/moisturizer stays a little tacky and it makes powder foundation diffcult to apply evenly so i put mineral veil on first which makes my skin a smooth surface for the foundation. i notice the powder stays on better with mineral veil too. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Doesn't seem to work for normal/oily skin
I tried this powder along with the BareMinerals Foundation. I wasn't impressed with it. If it's a matte finish you are after this one won't do it. In summer weather my skin does tend to get a little oily and this product did nothing for oil control. It didn't seem to last either. It "wore off" unevenly and changed color. It's not a powder I would choose to buy again. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

a must-have
I use this product over my Bare Escentuals foundation and makeup, and it does give me that smooth, airbrushed look that Leslie talks about in the infomercial. I think it has something to do with the way it reflects the light off your face. I also love that it has SPF, which is important to me. I get so many compliments on my skin since I started using this line, and this is one of those products that I am never without. I love the texture, I love it way it makes my skin look, and a little goes a long way. It also works to freshen up your look midway through the day, controls shine and just makes me look better. I love it — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Bleh...again
I felt the same way about this as I did about the SPF 15 foundation powder. I don't like the overall look this provides. Reapplication never works because your skin will look plastic and chalky as you apply more. Mineral makeup is just not for me. — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Versatile Product
I love this stuff. Sometimes I use it all over my face, other times I use it just as a highlighter for my cheek bones, brow bone, etc. 1 container will last a very long time. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

No, no, no!
This powder "veil" is meant to be applied over Bare Escentuals' horribly shiny powder foundation. It not only made my face look chalky and shiny all at once, while it settled into pores, exacerbated lines I never knew I had, and accentuated every little flake of dry skin. It certainly didn't do anything to prevent the awful shine (they call it a "glow", I guess) that comes with using Bare Minerals. I've disliked every Bare Minerals powder product that I've tried, and this is no exception whatsoever. — 4 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Excellent stuff!
I love this stuff, it really smooths out the few lines I have. Covers everything like it should! — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Is Best Used Lightly!
If you overdo it with this product, you will look pasty! But, if you layer it lightly over the face, you will not end up looking like your wearing flour on your face. It does help in keeping the face matte, but you do have to reapply it throughout the day, in order really cut down on breakthru shine. — 5 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Finally! The perfect powder!
I love this stuff! I've always had the problem of smearing eyeliner due to my oily complexion, even with the "long-lasting" formulas such as Revlon Colourstay. Also my skin always gets oily after a few hours, no matter what. I received this as a gift from my aunt, and it blends right into my skin, makes my eyeliner stay on forever (even at a full day in triple-digit weather at Six Flags), and allows me to go a full day and still look fresh and shine free. It is worth the extra price. — 4 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

A Miss
I really didn't like this. It didn't do anything a cheap translucent powder couldn't do & honestly, it feels kind of cakey & heavy, especially if you're going to try using it over foundation (whether you're using Bare Escentuals or another brand). My grandmother also tried this (I used the Bare Escentual foundation on her and she loved it) expecting the same great results she had from the foundation but this seemed to work in the complete opposite. It drew attention to spots, lines, and pores so you should certainly skip it if you don't have the best of skin. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
