I'll Stay with Traditional Foundation
I'm a fan of the fact that this foundation is all-natural and good for skin. I also love the fact that I can combine hues for the perfect shade for my complexion. But, overall, my experience was not at all what I had hoped for. Coverage was uneven--no matter how carefully or well I worked with the Kabuki brush--and the powder adhered to miniscule creases, accentuating them. The finish was not unusual. It left a sheen, but it appeared unnatural. I can accurately tell a woman wearing Bare Minerals by the same "glow," and I don't like it. — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 14 people said helpful

Bare Minerals Foundation
This product has very light coverage. I don't see how they can call it a foundation. It deposits into lines and wrinkles and still shows flaws. It is very messy since it is a loose powder. Does not go on smoothly when you start with a primer. Do not recommend. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 21 of 31 people said helpful

What in the world is in this stuff?
I was a loyal Bare Minerals users for YEARS. I've never had good skin, so I liked the coverage that I would achieve with it, and the brushes that came with the kit. UNTIL one day, when I accidentally spilled this on my bathroom counter. I tried to clean it up with a dry towel, but it just smeared. I tried and tried to clean it up, finally resorting to a steel wool pad and Clorox bleach to scrub it off. It took me an hour. I know that they bill this stuff as all natural, but if I can't clean it off of my non-porous countertop with chemicals and hard scrubbing, then what in the world is it doing to my face? I will never ever use this again. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 24 of 45 people said helpful

So-so
I normally don't like loose-powder makeup. I don't like how powdery it appears on my face, but I love the natural glow it gives me. I have a few dark acne scars and this doesn't cover it up very well. I had to keep touching up and I don't like that. Very high-maintenance. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 22 of 32 people said helpful

Overrated.
I received a free "10-day sample" of Bare Escentuals and was so excited to try it! Unfortunately, it really doesn't work well for me as a foundation. I have oily skin that isn't sensitive at all, and acne/scarring so I need at least medium coverage. I'm only 23 so no wrinkles or anything. Bare Escentuals did not cut it for me. Despite their claims, the coverage isn't really buildable (I had like 5 coats of the stuff on my face and it didn't seem that much better than ONE coat of my Maybelline pressed powder foundation or my Physician's Formula Talc-Free Mineral Powder). Even if it is "buildable", not worth wasting your time doing it. It didn't help with oil at all, but I'm not surprised by that. The worst part was that Bare Escentuals made my face itch! No, not a rash or anything, but it felt uncomfortable on my face and there is no way I'm paying ANYthing for a product that feels like that on my face. (Physician's Formula is 1/3 of the price and doesn't make my face itch either, so I'll stick with that!) To sum up, Bare Escentuals is nice powder that is nice and fine, but doesn't really provide good coverage, nor does it control oil well and definitely not worth the money. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 16 people said helpful

Doesn't Work for Me!
I tried Bare Minerals about a year ago, and it does not work for me. I have combination skin with a lot of "peach fuzz". This foundation clung to my fuzz and nothing else. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 15 people said helpful

Long Lasting Light Coverage
This product provides light coverage, which is what I like about it. I find it easy to apply and why applied correctly it stays. I find that it doesn't do as well on oily areas, but I love that I feel like I'm not wearing makeup. — 7 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 13 people said helpful

Fantastic foundation!
When I started using this product 10 years ago, I never dreamed what a life changer it would be for me. Before I used it I didn't have a beauty routine to speak of. Once I tried this foundation and saw the difference it made in my appearance, it was easy to remember to use it each and every morning. It gives me protection from the sun, beautiful coverage, and with a little practice is easy to apply for a completely natural look. Value = priceless! — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 14 people said helpful

I use this foundation only with foundation primer and concealer
I've been using liquid-based foundation for years, but bareMineals changed my mind. First of all, I want to state that this foundation does not work for me WITHOUT applying a good foundation primer and a concealer. Without a primer my pores look stand out and the foundation does not stay well. But with the primer, bareMinerals gives me very satisfactory results. My color is Medium Beige and it matches to my skin color very well. The powder is light and goes on smoothly. SPF 15 is a nice bonus. I wish the coverage was a bit more. I still need to use a concealer to cover my acne scars and sun damage spots. Also, I am not fond of their package. The powder leaks out the package often, and I have to be careful when open it. But I do like the natural look this powder gives my face. Again without a primer or bareMinerals' all-over face color "Warmth", I would not love this foundation this much. I'll probably use liquid makeup when the weather is dry, but if I have to pick up power-based makeup, this will definitely be my first choice. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 16 people said helpful
