Wonderful, but follow instructions!!

by MrsSmifff (6 reviews)
I have used every self-tanner possible for my fair skin and I always go back to this. It looks a little like you just got car grease all over you when you first apply it, but once you shower the next morning, it looks flawless! The smell is also totally gone after you shower, which I don't always find after using other brands....I do have a sensitive nose though.11/24/2007

    Best for legs!

Here are my recommendations for best results: 1. Use it the night before. The tint helps you see where it's gong and whether it's smooth but is a little orange-y to be natural looking. 2. Take a shower the next morning. Voila! Beautiful, believable tan. 3. Wear surgical gloves when applying. The tint will stain your palms.... Wear surgical gloves when applying. The tint will stain your palms. I had to scrub my hands with a dish brush the first time I applied this because I could not get the green/orange tint to go away. Really clings to your cuticles, too. Otherwise, fantastic stuff. I haven't found anything that looks more natural and it is easy to get streak-free. May 2, 2008, 11:17 pm

    Best self-tanner!

It really helped me overcome my addiction to tanning beds, and thanks to it I haven't been going to tanning salons for over a year now and still enjoy a beautiful dark tan the whole year round. The color is very natural and dark, not orange (due to green pigment present in it), and even on my very dry skin it lasts for a week. The application is a bit messy, but it's totally worth it. Besides, after some practice it takes only 10 min to apply. May 1, 2008, 3:46 pm

Also don't forget to prep skin, such as exfoliation and shaving prior ( 24hrs). Though spray tanning is can be easier. April 22, 2008, 9:28 pm

    apply carefully

This lotion does a really good job. However, you must exfoiliate well and use a small amount of their moisturizer to avoid streaking. February 18, 2008, 1:33 pm

    Amazing results

I have tried low end high end and everything in between this is hands down the best and the most natural looking self tanner. Exfoliate beforehand. You can get a 32 oz. bottle at massage warehouse for $60 this is the best price I have found yet. September 8, 2008, 11:36 pm

August 9, 2008, 8:34 pm I have used many, many self-tanners and this is the only one that I think is worth the money. It goes on with color, so you know if you are applying evenly and it really does look like you've just come back from the beach the next morning. Although they all smell bad, this probably has the least offensive smell of any that I have used. I would recommend this hands down over any product that I have tried. Be sure to exfoliate before using (St. Tropez has a good exfoliator, but any will do fine) and moisturize heels, knees and elbows so that you don't end up with dark spots. No orangey look with this tanner at all! August 9, 2008, 8:34 pm

    Best tan ever

    by Andrea1107 (2 reviews)
I have definitely done my fair share of streaking and looking orange from other tanners, but St. Tropez is the first one where I feel like I'm actually putting on a "tan" color! It gives me the most natural looking color and everyone at work thought I escaped to the beach for the weekend! July 10, 2008, 8:12 am

    love it

all the other fake tanners make me look orange and not at all like a real tan. this is amazing. it makes you look like you just stepped out of a tanning bed. its a little hard to but on and time counsuming, but doesnt take near the ammount of time that you would have to drive to a tanning bed and lay there to get tan. • St. Tropez Auto-Bronzant Lotion works instantly for a streakless application that will last for days. This aloe vera based lotion is non-greasy and quick drying, with a relaxing aromatic scent. Conveniently formulated in one maximum strength shade that can be custom blended with St. Tropez Body Moisturizer to your own desired shade.   Finally, you can enjoy a year round tan so dark it can actually hide stretch marks, varicose veins and vitiligo.
  • Directions

  • Step 1) Prepare skin with St. Tropez Body Polisher. Step 2) Use St. Tropez Body Moisturizer on dry areas (i.e. hairline, elbows, hands, knees, ankles and feet). Step 3) Smooth St. Tropez Auto-Bronzant evenly onto skin; let it absorb - do not over rub. For best results, apply at bedtime and shower next morning. For a lighter tan, blend to desired shade only with St. Tropez Body Moisturizer. To maintain your color, apply 1 to 3 times weekly. To maintain your tan, moisturize daily and use St. Tropez Body Polisher every 3 days.Important: Wash palms thoroughly with soap and a scrub brush or use St. Tropez Self-Tan Remover immediately after use. Avoid water contact or perspiration for at least 4 hours after use. Avoid contact with fabric until dry. May stain light hair, wool, or nylon. For external use only. Keep out of eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
