Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour

The appeal of this glamorously bottled polish lies in its brand name and coveted, unique colors, but not in much else. Treat freshly manicured nails with care at all times or polish will chip within a week. The decorative bottle cap can separate from the twist top beneath it on occasion -- a bummer. Nails don't feel stronger or more moisturized than they do with cheaper polishes like OPI. Although I've never tipped over the rectangular bottle, I wouldn't call it "non-spill."

Just got my First and my Last Chanel Nail Polish

April 10, 2008, 11:12 am The first bottle of polish I got went on very thick and didn't spread very easily. I took this back because it was as if the polish was old and started getting too tacky. Chanel replaced it and the results were better, however, my polish is already chipping. I spent my Sunday morning doing my manicure and the next day I have to redo it - major chipping going on. You will need a top-coat over your polish for your manicure to endure longer than a few hours. This is just really not worth the money, and I am so sad becuase I love the colour. I will find an Essie or OPI colour that looks like Blue Satin, instead. April 10, 2008, 11:12 am

    Chanel Nail Color

    by Ratgirl (1 review)
I don't know how they do it. I find Chanel nail colors to go on better, last longer, and stay fresh longer than ANY other brand I have tried in the past 30 years. They cost more, but if I have to use twice as much of a cheaper polish because the initial coat bubbles, if I have to throw away a bottle of a cheaper brand after a year because it separates hopelessly, but I can keep the Chanel for 10 years (no kidding) and MAYBE have to thin it once a year-- well, the cheaper brand isn't really cheaper, and causes me lots of aggravation to boot! November 30, 2007, 9:56 pm Let me first say that I am pretty much a Chanel girl. I love most everything they make. But . . . this polish is just not up to Chanel standards. The colors are usually very pretty but compared to other brands (like OPI, Essie, even drugstore brands) it does not hold up. For example, I bought Black Satin when it first came out and was so excited - only to have it chip less than 12 hours later. The comparably colored black polish I bought from Nailtini stays on for at least 5-6 days without a chip (and without a top coat). I have given Chanel polish so many chances but I have to give this a thumbs down. There is no reason to pay this much for polish unless it is a GREAT polish and this polish is simply less than average. November 30, 2007, 9:56 pm

Unless you don't have to pay for the polish like me, (it was an xmas gift from a friend) theres really no reason to have Chanel nail polish. You can find beautiful nail polish colors from OPI, essie and even brands they sell in drug stores. November 17, 2007, 3:16 pm

I am very busy and this nail polish allows me to go for longer without painting my nails because they stay looking nice longer. It is far superior to cheap nail polish. The main difference that I have noticed is that the red does not dye my nails yellow or pink like other polishes. Great product in a chic bottle! April 24, 2008, 8:20 pm

    Blue Satin is Pretty!

So I tried it again, applying just one coat and this time, the true color with all its blue shimmer glory really comes through and I love it! I like Chanel's formulas for polish; it's easy for me to paint nails myself. But, it isn't any more chip resistant than any other polish out there. Vamp is still my all-time Chanel fave! Shade Allegoria (better than Ballet Slippers!)

    by COCOACHiCBeauty (4 reviews)
Chanel nail lacquers are awesome - lasting, no chip, true to color, good consistency, good shine. Expensive, but good

I think you are paying mostly for the brand name, but that being said, the colors are always fantastic and it stays on really well. I think I've heard that many polishes are made by only a few companies. If you can't afford it, you most likely can find a similar shade within a cheaper brand such as OPI or Essie. Colors great! Prone to chipping

    by pinksurly (35 reviews)
I was dissapointed that by the end of the day my newly painted nails were already strating to chip away color. The colors are awesome! Perhaps with use of a top coat the color has more staying power. I did expect more out of this product. February 21, 2008, 10:34 am
