Regardless of whether you believe firming lotions work, the real issue with Dove Firming Beauty Body Lotion is the smell. It's a little powdery, a little perfume-y -- somewhere between grandma's flower garden and well, grandma. It should be called a cream; it's almost as thick as cottage cheese (the irony). But it blends easily and appears to give toned skin a smoother appearance within two weeks of daily use. Sensitive skin may find it a little drying.

    Not so great

    I bought this on a whim and I do not like much of anything aabout it ,It is very thick and I never saw a difference although I admit i didn't expect much in the firming department. It has a strong scent so I can't wear it out because it competes with my perfume. This is not something I will buy again, May 31, 2008, 8:11 pm

    i think this is a very good lotion if you rub it on in the circular motion.....i use a lot of lotions for different reasons and i have tried many different kinds. i think this one is awesome, especialy if you tan.. February 4, 2008, 1:54 pm

    The lotion leaves your skin smooth but it's got a little greasy feeling there after. As far as firming aspect... not to convienced! August 21, 2009, 11:53 am

    Great product, bad smell

    It is a state of the art lotion that moisturizes very well (although I don't know about the firming part). Too bad this great product and many other dove products have such strong, revolting scents. This one smells like a granny wearing insect repellant. Love the lotion, but can't stomach the smell.     Alot of people buy firming products thinking it is an instant fix for cellulite. Well obviously it isn't or we would have have cottage free thighs!! Anyways, I was using this product 2x a day and did notice visible results in about 2 weeks. The cellulite on my thighs was definately less pronounced than what it had been. October 29, 2008, 5:33 pm

    Great Lotion

    I had problems with the skin on my chest during the summer. It seemed to smooth it out quite a bit then before the lotion. There have been some complaints about the smell. Well the truth is not everyone is going to like the same scent. It is like perfume what one person loves another doesn't. I think calling the lotion &quo...t;a scent that is powdery and smells like a grandma" is a little over the top. There are alot of lotions I have tried. When I read the review I went and smelled the scent of the lotion. It actually has a fresh scent to me?? It is like I said everyone's taste in scent is different. The texture of the lotion is good too. Not too heavy and moisturizes well. When used for a bit the texture of the skin does feel firmer. Dove is a very reliable brand to use too.     I thought I saw results, but wasn't sure if it was wishful thinking or not. I used it as the directions ask and for a long period of time. The moisture is great and the smell is fresh. I'm just not sure if I saw any real results. October 23, 2008, 5:19 am
