Redken recently revamped this line, this product is now called Color Extend Sun Sparkling Shield. While the orignal product was great, my clients who use it swear it is better yet. It is a leave in smoother with Redken's new Hydra Shield Complex, and it not only protects from the sun's harmful rays, it conditions the hair with it's use. It has mango oil which is quickly absorbed, and my clients tell me they use it sparingly as a smoothing treatment and to proctect their hair while heat styling. It also helps the hair from absorbing chemicals in pools or spas that would otherwise oxidize their hair color into that horrible green shade that chlorine can sometimes leave in your hair. The new formulation smells great, and when used as a serum it really adds shine and almost totally eliminates frizz. Protected hair is healthy hair, and this revamped line is a great line to use to maintain the health of your hair if you spend a lot of time in the sun or lying by, or swimming in a pool. Since this is an oil, I advise folks with very fine hair to use this sparingly.
