Clinique Superfit Makeup

Aiming to be foundation's equivalent to long-lasting lipstick, this promises "transfer-resistant, all-day wear" that should be removed with makeup solvent. Sounds serious, but it didn’t actually deliver. It required a lot of blending to achieve a smooth finish, particularly around the hairline and jaw, and the wear was about the same as its non-long-lasting competitors. The 17 shades offer a range from ultra fair to olive (read: darker complexions, look elsewhere).

December 2, 2007, 8:59 pm I've been using this foundation for nine years...I've tried other foundations, but have found them too heavy...I am not really sure how long this foundation is supposed to last, so I can't comment on it's long lasting capabilities. But I love it's light-weight formula which has served me well whether living in humid climates, such as Washington, D.C. or in the hot, hot desert, Phoenix. It's texture is very malleable, which makes it easy to apply with your fingers, sponge, foundation brush, or your preferred method of application. You can also build layers for preferred coverage, which is important for day to night application if your makeup routine varies for occassion, or on the days when you feel you need more coverage. All in all I think it's a Clinique Classic that delivers. December 2, 2007, 8:59 pm

I wear the Gentle Light Powder over it and it makes for a wonderful combination. I am always looking for a great foundation and at this point, I am looking no longer. I wouldn't recommend it for ladies who need a heavier coverage, because it has a light to medium coverage. May 1, 2008, 7:43 am

February 18, 2008, 6:19 pm Okay, so I am a makeup junkie and i know ALOT about foundations. I have seen some comments about this foundation that it doesnt last as long as it should-- but honestly, What makeup does? I will tell you right now, that there are FEW foundations that last ALL day- FEW. and those are the ones that have bad ingredients and harmful things int he mixture to make it stick like icing to your face. Cliniques ingredients are your skins best friend. To me, this foundation stays on pretty well for about 6 hours. I use the loose powder to set it afterwards, and that works well. It gives a great matte finish. February 18, 2008, 6:19 pm

    fave liquid foundation

    by mommy2meg (8 reviews)
This is the best liquid foundation I have tried & I have pretty much tried them all.The best part is it's more affordable than alot of other high end foundations that don't perform as well. I have oily, sensitive skin and this looks very natural on and it has never caused any breakouts. January 19, 2008, 10:10 am

I therefore have a wonderful history with Clinique and was sadly disappointed with the superfit. I did not like the feel on my face and it did Not "last all day" as promised . I spent Clinique money , but did not feel I received Clinique quality. May 26, 2008, 11:45 pm

March 26, 2008, 12:27 am I\'m always looking for the perfect foundation - this comes pretty close! I have normal skin but tend to break out, and this is great since it\'s oil-free. It\'s a light liquid so it\'s easy to blend, and since the finish is semi-matte it only needs a little powder to set. I\'ve tried Estee Lauder Double Wear and had the hardest time blending because it felt almost like a thick solid, and would NOT wash off with cleanser! I have extremely fair asian skin, however, but am neither yellow-toned nor pink, and Superfit doesn\'t seem to carry the right color. But who cares as long as it\'s perfect everywhere else? I just look a little tan:) March 26, 2008, 12:27 am

After reading several positive reviews for this product, I purchased some from a local department store. From my experience, I think it provides a natural coverage and certainly reduces the shine for most of the day. To be fair to the product, I live in a humid climate so I'm not sure there will ever be an all-cure for skin like mine, but I think "Superfit" comes close to fulfulling my needs. December 1, 2007, 7:07 pm I had high hopes for this foundation, but it disappointed me like the other Clinique foundations I have tried. My biggest problem is that it doesn't come in a shade light enough for my fair skin. Because of this, I can't get it completely blended in, so it never looks natural. It also doesn't hold back oil as long as I would like. According to Clinique, it's also supposed to be "transfer-resistant," but I haven't found it to be any more transfer-resistant than any other foundation I have used. At least it doesn't irritate my skin in any way, but I won't be repurchasing. Ingredients: water, cyclopentasiloxane, butylene glycol, nylon-12, bis-peg/ppg-14/14 dimethicone, trimethylsiloxysilicate, hdi/trimethylol hexyllactone crosspolymer, isostearyl palmitate, triethylhexanoin, magnesium stearate, silk powder, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, laminaria saccharina extract, bisabolol, cetyl peg/ppg-10/1 dimethicone, polyglyceryl-4 isostearate, c9-15 fluoroalcohol phosphates, hexyl laurate, laureth-7, nylon-6, sodium chloride, alumina, silica, disodium edta, phenoxyethanol, butylparaben, isobutylparaben, isopropylbaraben. May contain: titanium dioxide, iron oxides, mica. December 1, 2007, 7:07 pm
