This mascara actually lengthens lashes with "stretchable silk micro-fibers," but unlike some fiber-full formulas (Maybelline New York Intense XXL), you don't notice the fibers in this. It claims to lengthen by 50 percent, but 20 percent is more like it -- totally acceptable for a product you simply brush on. It doesn't add much volume, but it's not overly natural either. It wears well without smudging or flaking, and the brush is a classic medium width and easy to use.

    I have used other Estee products, other mascaras and I have never ran into the problem of basically it just sliding off your face like I experienced with the Lash XL Max. Very disappointing for a quality company to have this product. I will continue to purchase Estee products, just not this one. May 24, 2008, 12:35 pm

    Not the best but still good!

    This mascara is good because its Estee, so it's already a quality mascara, but its not the best. The first 5 days or so I have it, its amazing! But then after a few days, it starts to act like most mascaras do after you've had them for several months. It started to clump and dry up, etc. Its great at the beginning though!     Get Long Lashes

    This is one of my favorite mascaras. It builds length and really makes my eyes stand out. Even better, it doesn't clump, flake, or wear off during the day. If you're looking for a long-lasting mascara that gives you wonderfully long lashes, this is a great option. December 31, 2007, 6:15 pm

    great mascara

    I have been using this Mascara for about 3 yrs now, I keep trying new mascaras, but this is still my favorite. It can clump a little after a few uses. A little to trick to help with this is wipe off the brush with a paper towel, before application. December 8, 2007, 10:44 am

    Mascara this one is great.

    I have long eye lashes and when I first uesed this style I was concerned however it did not make my lashes too much longer, but with more control and I was asked by many if they were really mine and not the fake. And NO smodgingI would say YES to this product. December 6, 2007, 6:11 pm

    Good mascara

    I have more sparse stubby lashes. Not ideal. This mascara does thicken up the look of the lashes a bit but it does cover them well so my lashes look longer. It hasn't flaked for me. It lasts all day. Clumping wasn't an issue for me either. August 13, 2009, 12:11 pm

    This mascara goes on really nicely. It makes lashes look really nice, but it does not wear very well. If it is hot, humid, or you are going to be exceptionally active, this is not the mascara for you. Otherwise, it is a pretty good option. February 3, 2009, 1:39 am

    Drugstore quality at a high-end price

    I returned this mascara. It was too expensive for its so-so results. It coated my eyelashes with a nice shade of black and it did make them fuller, but they didn't appear to be any longer. The formula is thick and a bit dry, so it doesn't go onto lashes easily and, I'm guessing, causes it to dry out quickly. Like I said, th...is is just an average mascara and doesn't deserve to be in the Estee lineup. September 29, 2008, 1:02 pm
