Not All It's Cracked Up To Be...

    by jennyb1973 (9 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I purchased the Bare Minerals products in a "kit" and thought they were okay. The coverage wasn't nearly what was advertised, but I was still okay with that. However, after using them for three days, I started to break out in hives whenever I applied any of the products. I don't have overly sensitive skin, so I... was surprised by it. My biggest complaint is that when I called to talk to them about it, I got the runaround about my return. I kept being told that they had never heard that complaint before - as if I were making it up! After a lot of work, I was finally given a return number and did get my money back. Don't need BE anymore!

    by Reservechic (266 reviews)

The flawless face brush gives a poor application of the product. Whuch is why, I never became a fan of it.Also, the powder foundation is quite messy. And, it is also time consuming to get it to look decent on the face. After having products from this line on and off over the last 10 years, I recently decided that I wil...l not be purchasing anymore BE products. As,I personally feel that my skin would better off using Everyday Mineral products products. Every Minerals products offer better quality and their products don't have potentially harmful ingredients in them either. November 22, 2007, 11:57 am

    Didn't work for me

    by AmieRae (4 reviews)
I am a busy working mother of two small boys and I was looking for a foundation that could give me a polished look in a small amount of time. This product made my large pores appear even larger than they are, and within 3 hours of application it would coagulate with the oil on my skin and create a disgusting mess. I gave it... a good month, trying different techniques and adding products recommended by the company. In the end ,I went back to my old stuff because all bare minerals did for me was magnify my flaws, definitely not what I wanted November 13, 2007, 12:43 pm

    The Truth of going Bare

    by OldHolliwood (3 reviews)
Bare Minerals is an extremely popular brand, so naturally I was curious to see if this was the miracle product that I had been looking for. Unfortunately, it was't. I have oily, acne-prone skin that is constantly breaking out. When I put on Bare Minerals, it was an easy process and it didn't take long, but it is not good fo...r covering blemishes, in fact, if you put too much on not only is it noticeable, but it becomes shiny and you have to wash your face and start over. Overall, it looks natural and it doesn't feel like a mask, but it is better suited for people with few to no imperfections. November 12, 2007, 8:16 pm

    I tried!!!

    by suestary (4 reviews)
Being accusstomed to using creme products for foundation I tried this anyway, because of the information given to me explaining that it had moisturising factors and heailing agents.i havesomesun damage on my face due to the lack of knowledge of spf factors "back in the day". Even though i liked the color and the ...application it made my skin feel flaky and still dry. I kept using this hoping for improvment , increasing my moisturising routine etc. I think i gave this a fair try, but still would not recommend this if your looking for full coverage and have skin with dryness or sunamage. Goodbye liquid foundation!!

    by zagasam (3 reviews)
I've suffered with rosacea for several years and my self esteem suffered with it. I had to use two to three layers of heavy foundation to cover up the redness on my cheeks and nose. I looked awful! Then I found bareminerals and not only has my skin taken on a great new healthy glow but I can manage my rosacea easily and ...without feeling like I poured half a bottle of tar on my face. I had always wanted to try it..

    by maggiemmt (3 reviews)
I could not wait to get this in the mail. When it finally came I found it less than impressive. Not only did it not conceal well, but it wore off quickly. I also found that it caused a burning sensation any time I would sweat. After talking to other users, I found that others have had the same issues. December 31, 2007, 8:40 pm

    Awesome for fair skin!

    by carternewton (3 reviews)
If you are extremely fair, this is the foundation for you! I have tried for years to find a liquid foundation that matches my fair skin and nothing has come remotely close. I am not a red-head or a natural blonde, and all the other shades I have tried that are called fair or porcelain end up looking orange on me. After s...everal years of not wearing foundation at all because of this, I decided that I am getting a little too old to walk around with no face makeup! The bareMinerals in fair is exactly that... a perfect shade for the truly fair-skinned! I also love that it covers my shine without looking caked on. December 26, 2007, 10:04 am

Don't fit kits but good make-up

    by mybaby2028 (5 reviews)
BareMinerals was the first of a few mineral make-ups I've tried. I don't fit into the initial color choices which was frustrating in the beginning. But, once I got the right color I loved this stuff. It gives me the natural looking complexion I wanted and no make-up has ever given me that (I actually, for years, swore of...f using make up pther than for special occassions prior to mineral make-up). But, it does have its flaws. It can look cakey if you use even a tiny amount too much. And, forget about using it on peeling or flaky skin. . .My nose is oily but also can have cracked or flaky skin so that is touch. I don't think it covers nearly as well as the infomercials would make you beleive. And, I don't think it is any better for skin that regular make-up (though it does feel different and doesn't give that mask feeling that other make-ups have). But, overall, it is a good make-up. I have been using minerals for years now and wouldn't go back to the traditional stuff. I just wish it were more affordable and easier to get. December 7, 2007, 11:45 am

    Make-up for real life

    by fueysers (2 reviews)
I was very skeptical but after reading about it in numerous magazines I tried it for myself and absolutely LOVE it. The infomercials are no lie. After switching from a chemical filled foundation to a natural product such as bare minerals powder foundation my skin is less oily, rarely breakouts and the redness is gone. I lov...e the way it covers without the look of make-up. I have also tried the Sheer coverage powder foundation and did not like it at all although I loved their congealer and use it under my Bare mineral powder. December 2, 2007, 1:30 am
