Editor Review

Rated a 7.5

The smell of this silicone-based finishing serum/treatment might remind you of Aqua Net. A pump of the mini spray bottle releases a dollop of clear, slippery almost-liquid that blends into a thin coating on palms. Frizzy ends and flyaway strands are immediately less noticeable. Hair looks glossy and feels slick, not soft. Sparse use will keep hair from looking weighed down or dirty. Palms retain sheen and smell like silicone, so wash up.

Awesome quality for a good price

    by 49erChick (4 reviews)
I love this product. I have very fine hair that has a tendency to get static easy, and my ends dry out easily. I have tried many products for this and most of them are 1) too heavy, 2) too greasy, 3) attracts dirt to my hair so by the end of the day it looks dull, 4) too expensive or 5) all of the above. This product calm...s the static, mends my ends and makes my hair silky-shiny all day and is affordable. October 31, 2007, 2:18 pm

    Not for me

This might be a great product for someone who straightens her hair. Given the fact that I curl mine (naturally stick-straight) and am perpetually trying to increase volume, this wasn't a good fit for me. The serum seems to absolutely prevent my hair from holding a curl, no matter what other products I use with it. I can giv...e it props for not being sticy like some other shine products I've tried. Beautiful Shine

    by blue_firefly77 (9 reviews)
I recently tried this and loved it. Some days my hair is fine, but other days it's a big, fluffy, dried-out mess. But this serum takes care of that. It follows through on its promise, but just make sure to use it like you are supposed to. Stay away from your roots and only use a small amount (you won't need more than a litt...le) or else your hair will look greasy. April 5, 2009, 7:41 am

    The Dry Ends Serum Works

    by litlfuzzy1 (6 reviews)
I use this right after I wash and towel dry my hair and get it ready to use my flat iron to straiten my hair. It makes my hair soft and shiny. I only use 2 pumps and rub my hands together, then run my hands all over my hair and comb it out. Then use the flat iron! Great stuff with a great price! March 12, 2009, 6:20 am

Great Utilitarian & Travel-Sized to Boot!

    by CONCETTABELLA (5 reviews)
I have thick curly hair that -surprise!- I love to blow out and flat iron straight (or at least wavy!) so this product is the best! Ends dry out and this smoothes everything out. Just don't use it too close to your scalp or you will get a greasy need-to-shampoo look. It fits perfect to throw into your bag so you can smooth ...on the go! I travel with this because it is under the 3oz limit for carry-on and I bring my flat-iron and use this and I'm good to go! You can't beat all this for the Avon price! Get it on sale and you won't regret it! June 10, 2008, 12:57 am

but its not. plus, it doesnt smell too great. it works well, as a blodry serum, or flatiron serum...the super reasonable price makes the shortcomings understandable. buy it on sale, or at an avon outlet and youre getting a real bargain for a staple type product. May 29, 2008, 7:07 pm

    Love this stuff

I use this all the time (only on the ends) under my usual creams and gels I use in my hair. My hair is quite long and the serum really helps mask split ends and adds shine. "Extra strength" works even better. May 5, 2008, 8:29 pm

A little dab will do ya

    by nanner9xb (11 reviews)
I use this daily on my 8 year old's long hair.... a couple squirts in the hand and apply to the ends... then brush away.... it not only keeps her hair in better condition but helps with the snaggles too. I buy it every time it's on sale. April 29, 2008, 7:43 am

I guess I should have read the label better because I used way too much. I wanted control and I ended up with slick. I haven't tried it again yet but I do intend to the only thing I can say is be sure to read the label. April 26, 2008, 9:40 pm
