Clinique Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder Reviews

Just an okay powder.
I didn't seem to notice any particularly mattifying effects from using this powder. It has an average length of wear. It's an okay powder, of average quality. The case isn't cute, but it's sturdy and holds up well. It's just OKAY. There isnt' anything really great about it, and it doesn't do what it says it'll do, but it doesn't make anything worse either. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

short-term solution
I initially bought this powder in Stay Neutral to control mid-afternoon shine on my T-zone and other oily areas. Before I apply this powder, I used a blotting sheet to remove excess oil. The combination of the sheet and this powder helped to control the oily patches for some time. But I needed to touch up again when I went out in the evening. The coverage was actually good, but definitely neither light nor sheer. It helped masking my pores. Nevertheless, I should not have re-applied too often against the Southern heat and humidity. That was my stupidity. It became a bit chalky and heavy, and my skin ended up looking a little cakey by the end of the day. But as a short-term fix, it made a difference — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

AMAZING!!!
I'm completely amazed by this product. I have quite oily skin and so powder foundation is a must for me. This works so well and you only need the tiniest bit to stay shine free all day. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Just "Okay"
Even though I realize that its not a foundation and therefore doesn't cover like a foundation, I can say that it is just "OK" powder. I like that it doesn't crumble/make a mess. It would have been better if there was a separate compartment for the applicator. I have oily skin so I have to touch up every few hours-more often than I would like- to be honest. I'm not really impressed. — 9 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

I love this!
I use this everyday to bronze. My powder is too dark so I use it like a matte bronzer. Doesn't freak my skin out and I love it! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not fine enough
I wish this powder was a little more fine. I use 01 Stay Buff on my fair, freckled skin and it's the perfect color for me, plus it mattifies my shiny nose without concealing my freckles, which would look weird and unnatural. The case is nice and strong; I've dropped it several times and neither the product, case, or mirror have cracked--great for a clumsy gal such as myself. But alas, only seven stars because the not-nearly-fine-enough finish advertises that I've got powder sitting on my nose. — 4 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Great for a picky user with picky skin!
In my 20's the foundation I used worked....when I hit my mid 30's that all changed and so did my skin. I took steps keeping my skin clear so I didn't want to put anyting on it that would irritate or break it out. I also wanted something a little more natural looking with coverage. I tried mineral makeup and every time I ended up with an oily face - yuck. When I went to the Clinique counter I had asked for another product, but was given this and I'm so happy I was! My skin LOVES this powder. It doesn't settle into the little nasty lines around my eyes BUT it does give great coverage! I use this with Pur Mineral's powder brush and it's gives great coverage without looking like you have a mask of makeup on! — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Great reasonably priced powder
I work 12 hour shifts, so having a powder that lasts throughout the day is a must. I often use this alone without foundation and just dust it on my T-zone after I apply my moisturizer. I use the invisible tone one and it adds no color to my face. It works very well in keeping the shininess and the oils away. It definitely holds up for a good 10 hours on my moderately oily skin. Doesn't look cakey at all, which I also love. Very similar to Mac's Blot Powder, but a little bit better for sensitive skin. Highly recommended. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Well But Not Great
I think this powder underperforms to the Clinique name. I found that over clean skin, it can make my skin look somewhat ashy and dry and I'll find my skin oily a few hours later, making touch ups frequent for me. I like the sturdy, nice jade style case but the makeup itself isn't too significant compared to other pressed powders I have tried. The color range though is decent considering there is some yellow undertones to it so it doesn't make me appear peachy or pink like some powders do but I recommend if you have really dry skin, this wouldn't be something you'd like too much. I think the powder needs to be more finely milled as well. This is better loose and applied with a brush to reduce the uneven patches of powder on the skin. — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful
