shinier, smoother, cuticles

A few months ago Target had a free sample of the Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil so I quickly signed up to receive it! The cuticle oil arrived and I have finally tested it out! The cuticle oil smells amazing, I want to mention this first because it is what won me over initially! The fragrance is very light, a little bit sweet, and just like apricots, however once you rub the cuticle oil on your nails ...read morethe scent eventually lingers away. How to apply? Well I generally use nail polish remover to clean my nails, even if there's no polish on it, then I use a nail filer and sand/file the top of my nails, to remove old nail cells. Then I push back my cuticles with a cuticle stick, and finally rub the Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil all over my cuticles and nails. I did find this cuticle oil to be very oily, so I basically could not use my hands for the rest of the night, which is perfectly fine because I just went to sleep. When I woke up in the morning, my nails were super soft, my cuticles were not dry and ugly anymore, overall my nails looks nice! Here's what Essie states: "natural oils provide nourishing moisture for smoother, softer, more supple cuticles. instantly refreshes and revitalizes." I do agree with the claims, my nails were a lot shinier, smoother, cuticles were clean and moisturized! The Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil does retail for around $8.00 for a .5 FL oz. bottle; you can purchase this at many local retailers such as CVS, Target, and Ulta.

Nice fruity apricot fragrance

I got a sample of this and found it was oily and did not really seem to absorb at all. I did not notice any softening in particular. I prefer CND Solar Oil because I feel I get better results. This was okay. It had a very true fruit, apricot fragrance.

Smells great, would prefer more natural ingredients

Made with cotton and soybean oil, this stuff is lovely for your cuticle and nail health. Massage it into your cuticle and nail beds and you'll see instant hydration. Especially helpful for keeping nails hydrated if you strip your polish off a lot. Moist nails means no peeling and longer growth! Putting oil on over your polished nails also helps your manicure last longer! This stuff is cheap, so it's an affordable indulgence. The other night I gave a bunch of the little girls (and one boy) in my neighborhood "manicures". I painted this onto their fingernails, which made them all pretty and shiny. Once Mikey saw his sister's nails, he came running up onto my porch with his hands held out, saying "Do me! Do me!" Essie has helped me to create a teeny little metrosexual :-)

Love this Stuff!

I got a free sample of this and I did not expect much but boy was I blown away! After just two days use my nails were visibly stronger and my cuticles have never looked better! HIGHLY moisturizing and very easy to use! Absorbs quickly so you do not have greasy fingers. Great price point! If you nails are in need of some rehab this is the product for you! Wonderful smell too!

Not up to Essie Standards

I agree with deedles: this smells really nice and fruity, but it doesn't do anything special. I've tried this a few times, but I'm not seeing any results that I wouldn't be getting using a regular hand cream. The brush is a nice touch, I was hoping that I could just limit the oil to my nail beds, but the oil is so runny that it makes a mess anyway. Stick with your hand creams, don't bother adding more clutter to your life with this one.

Love the Smell!

I have very dry cuticles because I am a nurse that washes my hands multiple times a day. I love this product. I have tried several cuticle oils and this is one of my favorites. I would say the scent is what makes me like it so much, it has a wonderful apricot scent. I use this product every night to keep my manicure looking nice.

Great smell ok results

I work in an office so my hands and cuticles get very dry from all of the paper. A manincurist I once went to recommended this product. I reluctantly bought it for eight dollars and was not all that impressed. It smells delicious and feels ok when you put it on but there are no lasting results. I say save the money and put some olive oil on your cuticles before bed for best results.
