Great powder

Lately my skin has been going through extreme turbulence--one month it's dry, the next it's normal, the next after that it's an oil slick. Needless to say, during my oily time I bought one of these powders. As much of a HUGE Nars fan I am, I was still a bit depressed to pay $45 for a pressed powder. What I love about it is that it's ultra refined and it never looks cakey on my skin--even on my sup...read moreer dry flakey patches on my chin. This absors oil and kills shine very well too. These powdered foundations come in many more shades than the original pressed powders. Large Sephora stores will have few, but they won't have the full line unlike Nars boutiques. The colors will match anyone beautifully. This powdered foundation has SPF 12 in it, as well as the fact that it gives better coverage than the standard pressed powders. What I don't like is how big and bulky the packaging is. I do like that it has a big mirror, but this "compact" reminds me of one of the older Blackberry phones in terms of size. It's not pocket-friendly, that's for sure. The bottom raises to reveal a cheap white sponge. That really irritated me!!! Yeah, I suppose you'd be able to replace them easily with any sponge from the drug store, but if I'm going to pay $45 for a pressed powder, I want a pretty sponge--not a cheap and flimsy piece of latex! Also, even though you think you find a shade that is closest to you, unless you buy this at a Nars boutique, you're not going to have easy access to ALL the shades to ensure that you find the best fitting shade for you. I would like a little better consistency between what Sephora stores and Nars boutiques offer. Fortunately for me, I still rely on liquid foundation because I need the fuller coverage. Therefore, I'm only going to need a little bit each day to remove shine and touch up on areas needing a little bit more of coverage. However for someone who relies solely on a powder foundation--unless you're a Nars loyalist, you may run out of this extremely quickly and another $45 will be used up.

Really like this

I happen to really like this foundation. Goes on smooth, not too thick and leaves you looking very natural. I just wish there was a little more foundation for the price paid.

Love it!

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I use it as my setting powder on my foundation and it gives me a nice wash of color and amazing coverage! However it is very expenisve :/

Worth it!

I love this powder foundation for my oily skin. It is easy to build coverage if needed. I first apply with a flat top brush and go over any areas with the sponge for extra coverage. My skin looks so natural that it doesn't even look like I'm wearing any foundation. I even use this to touch up during the day and it never feels heavy or look cakey.

Good for me!

I just wish they'd sell the sponges that come with them, individually. In addition, similar to what another reviewer stated, it would be great if you could pop "refills" in this instead of having to purchase the ENTIRE CASE, again. As far as coverage, I am normal to oily in the warmer months and normal in the cooler months. This gives me great light, non-cakey coverage. I use this in co...read morenjunction with the MAC Oil Control Lotion in the warmer months and it's been giving me great coverage.

Not impressed

If you have the smallest amount of dry skin, this is a no-no. I'm not talking alligator dry either. I found it settled heavily in any crease on your face/neck, no matter how little you applied. I also thought the shade selection was pretty slim compared to other powder foundations.

not the best but not the worst either

I find it very mediocre, it tends to rub off, and feel slight chalky, but it def isn;t the worst foundation ive tried

Nars Powder works wonders!

This Powder foundation seriously works wonders on my skin! The shades are enough to match any skin tone. I love the way it is so light and feels as if I'm not even wearing any makeup at all. It is perfect for the summer months where make up is usually minimal!

Perfect Match

By far, the best powder I've every purchased. I have medium to dark asian skin and have tried a gazillion powders that attempt to match my skintone. THis product in "St. Tropez" matches perfectly, covers beautifully, and keeps my skin from shining too much. A bit steeply priced, but worth it for perfection!
