Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

The effect of this specialized loose powder is so subtle, I can see why they called it a "secret." The minute brightening power comes from shimmery mica particles mixed with a base of white/lightly tinted talc and silica. Effects are so faint, application may seem unnecessary; but the powder can help set concealer and prevent mascara smudges under eyes. Soft and finely milled, the product is unscented and surprisingly non-drying. (Tip: When opening, gently pull the sticker from the sifter to avoid making a mess.)

I don't even wear foundation anymore! I wish it came in a bigger jar. Seriously girls, you won't believe you lived this long without it. November 28, 2007, 10:06 am

This is the PERFECT finishing powder! I have extremely oily skin and no other powder has provided me with such beautiful coverage and a perfectly matte finish! I have tried tons of face powders and none can compare to this! I will definitely be a lifelong customer and I HIGHLY recommend this to others! : ) May 25, 2008, 12:24 pm

    Laura Mercer Secret

The secret is "out" cause this is one of the greatest products I have found for me. Not too expensive compared to others and it does a bang up job. September 2, 2008, 8:20 am

August 15, 2008, 1:04 pm After having seen Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder touted all over the place, I decided to try it for myself. I got it in shade 2, which is supposedly best for medium to dark skintones. It still looks like an almost white translucent powder to me, which has a bit of luminescence to it. I applied my normal concealer first, then dusted a tiny bit of Secret Brightening Powder over it. Well, it works. It definitely brightens the look of dark undereye circle. This isn't really a concealer - it's just used to add some luminescence, which makes the skin appear lighter. I also have applied this over YSL Touche Eclat and it works wonders on a casual day, when I don't want to wear concealer or heavy foundation. Remember to be very light on your application - if you apply too much, you'll wind up with the reverse-raccoon look! August 15, 2008, 1:04 pm

    Use the Smallest Amount

    by HookedOnBeauty (102 reviews)
Use a fluffy brush and just take the dust from the lid to sweep a little over where your eyes appear dark. amount is key here.. It will set your eye concealer and give a lift to the eye area looking more awake! July 28, 2008, 11:41 pm

    Great for under the eyes!

    by AmyBlythe (4 reviews)
I dab this on the under eye area after I put on concealer...I think it really does brighten the area. Great for touch ups after a long day that continues on into the late evening. July 24, 2008, 7:16 pm

    A great finish

    by maximmom (5 reviews)
This powder gives that perfect finishing touch to my professional look. It also wakes up my tired eyes by adding a little reflectivity underneath. It's also great on top of my cheekbones to bring out the angles in my face. Highly recommended for that "finished" look. June 11, 2008, 4:47 am
