"Lip enhancing"? Meh, not so much with these non-plumping, yet vibrant glosses. Color only lasts through a half-hour commute, and it's hard to ignore the plastic aroma and grainy texture while you're wearing it (albeit briefly). OK, so the wand applicator evenly distributes, but really, who cares when the gloss tastes like contact lens solution? M·A·C Lipglass is a better option; it lasts longer, has a smoother texture and contains moisturizing jojoba oil.

I recieved a sample with a purchase. I am generally a big fan of Smashbox products, and I probably would say this is an OK lipgloss. However, I take issue with the "lip enhancing" part. This product made my highly pigmented lips shiny and soft; if that is the "enhancement", then so be it. But, when I hear"enhancement" I expect it to improve the color of your lips, not necessarily adding any real color, but making your lip's color prettier and sexier. Sally Hansen's glosses do the job better at a better price. I would not buy this in the store. December 15, 2007, 1:25 pm

...cuz I agree w/ BROOKLYN007; I love this gloss!..When I saw the new limited edition summer shade sand in a catalog, I immediately NEEDED IT(!) to give my face a change from my standard fave (Victoria's secret Very Sexy lip gloss in Wet)for the summer. (P.S.-the shade was ALREADY SOLD OUT from said catalog!) When I finally did recieve it, I was happy to find that the applicator brush was the same bristled type as my aforementioned fave. I think this is great lip gloss!!! (So does a certain beauty mag... Not that we HAVE to agree with their recommendations, but this time I do.) I owned this lip gloss prior to its Allure distinction; in fact, I have several of them. Ok, first off, it's not meant to be a plumper, and I'm not sure where everybody is getting that. "Lip enhancing" refers to the fact that it adds color to your lips and makes them slightly better than your own. The first gloss I bought from them was ILLUME, and it is still a staple in my make up bag. It is awesome alone or as a lipstick enhancer. One of the things that I was firt impressed with was the pleasant smell (kind of cake like)-- But more importantly, I thought that the staying power was rather good for a gloss. I had gone about my day and even eaten, and there were still more than remants left of my gloss. I have NO idea why everybody is so disappointed. This is great! I love Smashbox! May 12, 2008, 7:07 pm

This is not going to give you Angelina lips, but I do like the sheer color, I don't notice any odor and it isn't super sticky. I don't know that it has any actual lip plumping potential because there is none of that sting or sizzle when it goes on. It lasts as long as any other gloss. I think lip enhancing just means that your lips will look prettier with this than on their own. For me this is definitely true. March 11, 2008, 5:26 am

let's face it, all lip glosses that make your lips shine will be somewhat sticky. BUT, this lip gloss is a lot less sticky than most that are out there. it feels smooth and soft on, has great color, and as far as i could tell, fragrance free. the only downside to these glosses is that i don't like the application brush styles for most of them. i only like the sponge tip brush as it's the easiest to apply without a mirror. I recently received a free sample of this lipgoss true color in "pixel". Im so addicted to it, its my favorite. I have to say that its not my dream-come-true of glossiness without any stickiness, but its the best Ive found so far. Its really pretty and shiny.
