Editor Review

Rated a 5

The strips of shadow in this four-color palette are rich in pigment and have a nice sheen. A few warnings: The dark colors will sprinkle onto cheekbones if you don't pat or press them on. And if you use a makeup brush instead of the included sponge-tip applicator, you'll have a hard time getting just one color onto the brush because the strips of shadow are so skinny. Last but not least, after a few hours' wear, you'll notice creasing.

    Great for blending

The colors in these compacts are great for layering. I have one with a bright teal and a gray with teal specks- I love putting them together when I got out. Although the editor indicates that these shadows fall onto your face, that is applicable to all eyeshadows. She also indicated that the shades were too small for a b...rush- which I also disagree with because I have a few thin brushes, as most makeup junkies do. It creases...if you don't use a primer. I always use a primer (Tarte eyelid primer) and it keeps all my eyeshadow, even drug store brand, on all night. The packaging leaves much to be desired, but overall I like these eyeshadow sets. Gets creased, flakes off, but you can't beat the colour

    by iheartnitz (9 reviews)
I have to agree with the editor's review on this one. The shadow definitely flakes onto your lower lids after you're done applying, which can be a pain -- especially in dark colours, like the smoky coloured palette I own. It also tends to crease after a few hours of wear, but that's pretty standard for non "luxury"...; shadows. Why I still love these palettes are their colour combinations...they look absolutely fantastic together, and my smoky palette (#08) is all I ever need when I'm going for that dramatic look. Wet and Dry

    by Starluxe (300 reviews)

I think this is highly underestimated. I purchased several of these and found that they work wonders. Why? Because they go on sheer so you can control the color depth but what's even more remarkable with it is that you can touch an eyeshadow brush into water, rub in into a shade and use it for a more dramatic and long la...sting effect. They do blend well if you use a blank bigger and soft textured eyeshadow brush and buffed between colors. An eyeshadow primer is recommended for this so that it will stay on longer, but for the price, it's impressive. I just believe it's how creative you get with it. It doesn't have a hefty price tag and isn't the most luxurious brand in the market but I think it's one of the few cheapies that are versatile. March 6, 2008, 4:39 am

You Get What You Pay For..

I have 3 color palettes from other lines that retail for double what you pay for this, so I was excited to find a few of these at Sephora just to try them out. The color selection was great, each color in the trio is wearable but the problem is in the formula. I found the shadows to he hard, they didn't blend well and they ...faded quickly. This might be a good purchase for someone who isn't a die hard about cosmetics and wants great colors at a reasonable price. December 18, 2007, 1:07 pm

I liked the colors, and the shimmer, but when I applied it, it sort of flaked on my lids. November 11, 2009, 12:42 pm

    Nice, but could be better

    by jsl_makeup (6 reviews)
I like the color from these small eye shadow palettes Sephora makes, just wish they were a little bit bigger-- maybe not in long strips. Nice colors, especially the ones made for brown and blue eyes. May 5, 2009, 6:39 pm
