Looks like she slammed her arm into a door, but turns out the "bruise" is actually a tattoo of a little girl.

Before going into the slammer, actress Lindsay Lohan took care of some crucial errands. She posed nude for a magazine (read all about it here), got a lip injection and a manicure (check it here) and, of course, got a brand new body tattoo. Lohan began the outline of a tattoo on her upper left arm weeks before going to jail. The tatt is of a young angelic girl with flowing ringlets and is slightly reminiscent of a sleeping Goldie Locks with her eyes closed. TMZ reports that Lohan first walked into the Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlor in Hollywood a few weeks ago and decided on the picture because "she liked the innocence of the girl."

Ironic?

Maybe Lohan will look upon the little girl and think of her own childhood days as America's little darling in "The Parent Trap" before she turned into one of the "Mean Girls." Pun intended.

Celebrities and tattoos have become as pervasive as plastic surgery, with most recently young Miley Cyrus getting one on her ear, while Angelina Jolie just added another to her collection on her inner thigh for hubby Brad Pitt. Check out which U.S. cities have the most tattoos.

Lohan is currently serving her seventh day in jail after violating her probation multiple times and will possibly be released on August first, having served only a fraction of her original sentence of 90 days. She will then go immediately to an alcohol rehabilitation facility somewhere in California.

Family members and ex-girlfriend Sam Ronson (excluding Michael Lohan, despite his cajoling) have all visited LiLo in prison. Recently freed Alexis Neiers of "Pretty Wild" said that Lohan looked "a little down," but commented that it's to be expected because "you're in prison, you're in jail, ya know?" Wise words.

If you are thinking of getting a tattoo yourself, make sure to get it in a place on your body that you can reach so that you can apply sunblock. Tattoos' brilliance will fade naturally over time. Therefore, to extend the life expectancy of a new tattoo, make sure to apply proper sun protection. You can check out this list of best sunscreens before purchasing. Wonder if sunblock is one of the products available for LiLo to buy in jail?
