18 Sunscreens for People Who Hate Sunscreens

Frankly, sunscreen is a pain in my tuckus. It's sticky, it smells bad and just one day by the pool with multiple reapplications to my face leaves my chin a battle zone of acne for the following week. Since forsaking the sun and becoming a hermit didn't work out, I moved on to a new plan: Find a sunscreen that doesn't suck. Luckily, I have a fairly large beauty closet and a team of editors always willing to try a new product at my disposal. We worked tirelessly attending pool parties and outdoor barbecues weekend after weekend -- all to find the best sunscreens that aren't sticky, don't stink, play nice with makeup, are kind to sensitive skin and won't make you break out. Try out a few of our new "holy grail" sunscreens for yourself. We recommend your testing be conducted on a balcony with margaritas -- for the sake of science, of course.   read more

12 Best Products for Curly Hair

Those of us with curly hair know it can be both a blessing and a curse. When it behaves, nothing's better than having a head full of perfect ringlets or waves that cascade over your shoulders. But when it's acting ornery or piqued -- look out. Thirsty, frizzy, stressed-out curls are never pretty. And when we try to wrestle those same misbehaving curls into submission, it only makes things worse. (Because, really, the only thing that looks worse than fried curls are fried curls that have been further fried in an attempt to make them behave.)   Best curl products

Throw Out All Your Shoes -- This Is the Only Pair You Need

If you haven't heard of "shooties" yet, let us fill you in. A shootie is a cross between a high heel and an ankle boot -- or a full-coverage high heel if you want to think about it that way. And they go with everything. Pair shooties with a blazer and jeans like one of our favorite fashion bloggers did for a super polished casual Friday look. Or, wear a pair of completely badass metallic-accented shooties like the pairs we saw at multiple Fashion Week shows to give a little black dress some major attitude. Need more convincing that your closet is missing out in a big way? Here, eight very compelling reasons you'll want to hightail it to the mall ASAP.   read more

Graphic Design: Bold Patterns Sizzle This Summer

There are a handful of seasonal trends that we can predict -- pastels in spring, jewel tones in fall. Bright prints aren't exactly groundbreaking for summer, but this time around, celebs aren't just hitting the red carpet in expected floral, traditional stripes or one-dimensional polka dots. They're wearing bold graphic prints, unusual shapes and mixing quirky patterns with even crazier ones. The end result? Head-turning, memorable looks we never saw coming.   read more

Face Mists: The Summer Skin Saviors You Need Now

There's a fine line between dewy skin and sweaty skin. And let's be honest, in the summertime, we're almost always sporting the latter. In theory, strategically placed sweatbands, a gym towel and a portable fan would pull the whole look together, but alas, '80s athletic wear isn't completely on-trend this season. The best accessory for the sweltering months ahead? A refreshing facial mist.   read more

Cute Rompers That Won't Make You Feel Like An 8-Year-Old

Rompers, playsuits, jumpsuits … call 'em what you want, they're hard to pull off. A one-piece outfit is great in theory -- you can throw it on and go, and you don't have to worry about having a Marilyn-Monroe moment on a windy day. Add floral prints, frills and bows to that outfit, and you're creeping into "Toddlers & Tiaras" territory. Luckily, there are plenty of chic, fashion-forward rompers out there that are breezy, functional and, most importantly, won't make you feel like a preschooler.   read more

3 Tips to Keep Eczema at Bay

I'm blessed (read: sarcasm) with eczema. It's itchy. It's ugly. It sucks. To all my fellow eczema sufferers out there, you know what I'm talking about. I'm not a doctor and I don't even play one on TV (although I think I would love saying all of that jargon), there are a few things I do to keep my own eczema in check.   read more

The Limited Edition Makeup Collection We're Hoarding

We see a lot of makeup brands and new products come through our office. But no matter how often we test out makeup collections, a new product from Nars never gets a blasé reaction. The same can be said for the collection's new shades for fall 2014. Nars' fall 2014 collection, Night Caller, boasts eyeliners flecked with gold, glistening eye shadow combos and the prettiest cranberry lip stain I've ever set eyes on. And that's just the makeup.   read more
