  • The Beauty Products Our Editors Are Obsessed With Today

  • Being a beauty editor is a great job. Sorry, I know it's impolite to gloat, but trust me, you would too. Here's the deal, companies send us their products to try. It's like having CVS and every makeup counter in Bloomingdale's at our desks and, yes, I repeat, it's awesome.

  • Don't get me wrong though, for every great new conditioner we come across, there were 12 that were lame (like the ones on this list) -- but it sure is fun getting to test-drive 'em. And you, lucky girl, benefit from our trials -- we eliminate the guesswork so you know what's the best and what to skip.

  • Here're a few of our recent faves …

  • Amala Hydrating Cream Cleanser, $30

  • Our Editor in Chief, Beth, who typically doesn't splurge on cleansers, had nothing but raves for this one. "This gentle and skin-refining cleanser still has power enough to remove mascara. Over time, paired with the awesomely light Hydrating Face Cream, $68, I saw less dryness and rosacea flare-ups. Magical stuff indeed."

  • Essie's Chinchilly, $8

  • Senior Editor, Kristen who's a self-professed nail polish junkie can’t get enough of this Essie shade."The reason why this gray (with hints of taupe and green) shade is a standout is because of the sheer volume of compliments it garners. Everyone from the Starbucks cashier to the CEO of a competitive nail brand oohed and ahhed at this shade. It's a unique blend of edgy meets classic." (Find out whether expensive brands are worth the extra cash when it comes to polish.)

  • Redken Aerate 08 Bodifying Cream-Mousse, $13.99

  • Associate Beauty Editor, Sarah, who'd nearly given up hope of ever finding a product that would actually add volume to her fine hair without making it "crunchy," rejoiced when she tried this styling goodie, which she says "actually makes your hair feel thicker and soft. It's a little different than typical volumizers in that your hair won't have a stiff, poufy look. Instead, your hair just feels naturally plumped and looks fuller. Plus, the jelly-like formula smells good and is fun to play with -- obviously not essential for a good product, but a nice bonus."

  • It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye, $24

  • Bothered by under-eye circles? So was editorial assistant, Jane -- until she tried this. "Just a few dots of this concealer will give you enough coverage to hide the circles (and any blemishes you may have), while the vitamin- and collagen-infused formula moisturizes and reduces puffiness over time. Use it for two weeks straight and you may even see a big enough difference to stop all other eye treatments (it has totally replaced my eye cream). Enticed? Read more of Jane's rave review.

  • And, see what other fab finds have us shouting from the proverbial rooftops.

  • • Now that you know what we think, take a gander at some brutally honest reader reviews like these worst drugstore shampoos and best mascaras. Or maybe you'll care more about this list of super products for curly hair or lowest-rated lip glosses.

  • • Don't forget, you can write your own review of any product, any time. And there's no time like the present …
