  • How To Look Like a Celebrity in Every Photo (Even if You're Not One) Using Makeup Tips and More

  • It's a good thing I'm not famous. Forget that I can't act or sing ('cause obviously that hasn't stopped numerous MTV stars and celebutantes) I also happen to be the least photogenic person ever. And, clearly, as a star, you need to pose for pics and look better-than-good doing it. Just think about how many shutters will be snapping away at the Oscar nominees (see the hairstyles we think they should wear on Sunday here) -- and you don't see them cringing or cowering.

  • Now I'm not saying I'm downright fugly, in fact, doll me up with hair (like one of these sexy, but easy-to-do looks) and makeup (preferably a natural one -- learn a step-by-step here) and I can look OK, it's just that the camera and I mesh about as well as those tacky Gosselins.

  • And, if we've learned anything at all from Tyra Banks over the past 14 cycles of "America's Next Top Model," it's that there's a lot more to taking a good picture than being pretty. Even the contestants on that show grapple with looking good in photos -- and THEY get coached and primped by pros.

  • So are there tips that we non-models can follow to help us look less lousy on film? You betcha. Let's start with the all-important pose.

  • Tip 1:

  • Stylist to the stars Beau Quillian says, "Good posture can take off five pounds," He also advises against keeping your hands at your sides. "Put your hands on your hips, clasp them behind you, put your thumbs in your back pockets -- whatever it is that you need to do to keep them from just hanging there making your body look shapeless." What else can make you look five pounds lighter? Find out here.

  • Tip 2:

  • Quillian also thinks that it's a good idea to master a great smile. Practice in the mirror," he says. "See if you like a semi-smile better than a big toothy one. Or, maybe you look good smiling with no teeth. A lot of people think they have to go with a default giant grin, but that may not be your best smile."

  • Tip 3:

  • When it comes to avoiding that dreaded fake frozen stare we all get from time to time, Quillian suggests letting the smile go after two or three snaps and then "start again with a fresh smile."

  • Then, learn the secret to posting an awesome Facebook profile pic.

  • • Is looking good in pictures, and in general, the kind of thing you obsess over? Take the quiz to see if you spend too much time on beauty.

  • • And, follow these tips to get a flawless face any time -- whether you're planning to pose or just play.
