You covet your souped-up anti-aging creams and high tech serums, but what you put in your body might just give you the anti-aging boost you've been searching for. That's what healthy skin diets are all about.
We had a chat with dietitians Lisa Drayer, MA, RD, author of "The Beauty Diet: Looking Great Has Never Been So Delicious" (McGraw-Hill, 2008) and Tanya Zuckerbrot, MS, RD, creator of the F-Factor Diet, to help you learn how to maximize your body's wrinkle-fighting abilities through your diet with these foods that have some of the highest percentages of anti-aging vitamins, yet are still super-tasty.
"While topical creams can show some improvements in skin quality, the majority of ingredients just remains on the skin’s surface," says Zuckerbrot. "A well-balanced diet can ensure that nutrients are absorbed into the skin." So why not just pop a few pills to get the vitamins your diet may be lacking? Well, consuming a healthy variety of food is by far the best way to meet your body’s needs because food provides a number of benefits that a supplement can't -- basically, you get more bang for your buck. "Not only is turning to food a tastier option, but supplements don't contain all the vitamins and nutrients present in natural foods. Nor have they been shown to have the same disease-fighting benefits," explains Drayer.
Here we look beyond the creams, serums and supplements to share the top beautifying super foods you should fill your plate with in order to look younger and more radiant.
I love this article because it makes me feel better about what i eat! I dont want to see wrinkles anytime soon and the fact that i already consume most of these things makes me feel better! I dont see myself eating the oysters because that is just not my thing but otherwise i should be good! thanks!
Loved this article. Other than the oysters, I can do all of this. Dr. Oz says if you eat wild salmon, spinach and cherries 2xweek you can take 10 yrs. off your face. Pretty big claim. I'm going to try it along with these tasty foods. Also, alot cheaper than an expensive supplement.
I'm part rabbit and some days just eat veggies and fruits. I'm fortunate to live in the tropics where we have good fruit that's easily available and cheap! Guava, mangoes, coconut, ... Frozen berries are too expensive as well.
Information is relevant and totally up to date on wrinkle reducing foods . I am sure it will help the people and this blog will enhance their knowledge. Nice work.

The right food is always better than supplements-first of all it's more fun to each these delicious foods than swallowing a few pills-cantelope-honeydew-what's better than that and all the rest of the foods mentioned-I'm in food heaven when I eat them and never have a pang of guilt. This is the way to go!!!!!
I have followed most of these tips for awhile now. Mostly for my overall health but its nice to know that its doing my complex a good turn. Another more important DONT that wasn't brought was SMOKING! The quickest way for young ladies to age their skin is to start smoking. Not only is it bad for your general health, it dries out your skin (think making leather from animal skins) YUCK!!!
