Wacky Beauty Products That Actually Work

You may have seen beauty products like vibrating foundation and hair treatments with placenta, but did you know women actually love them?

Lush Cacas Hair Hennas, $22.95

Even they admit it -- "caca is French for 'poo'," so why did Lush name their hair color after the potty word? "We wanted to make the point that there are no nasty chemicals in them; they are 100 percent natural, lovely, safe ingredients so you can use them on your pretty heads as often as you like, building up a bright, shiny colour," says their website. "More than anything people want to know if we're crazy, sadists, or both. Yes, we do want you to put this caca on your head and sit there for a few hours, but you won't find natural, synthetic-free hair colour like this anywhere else. Transform your locks with our henna and cocoa butter blocks to finish with stunning colour and glorious conditioning," they continue.

Ok Lush, call it whatever you want. Because at the end of the day, despite the quirky name, women say they swear by this product to give them "beautiful rich red color" and "a boost of thickness afterwards," with the ultimate reward being that you're "actually doing something good for [your] hair instead of damaging it with chemicals," explains one devotee.

I have a heated eyelash curler (different brand than featured), and it produces absolutely amazing results! Not sure about the Lancome oscillating foundation, but the Lancome oscillating/vibrating mascara is very disappointing.

I love the Lush hennas! I use the CaCa Rouge (Red). Yes, it's messy and some people say it's stinky (smells like fresh cut hay to me). It gives amazing color and is totally worth the effort. It is expensive on the US website but if you buy from the UK website the price is about $10 lower. Shipping isn't great but it's worth it if you're putting in a Lush order and throw this in your order. You come out saving money, quite a bit of it. :)

The Pocket Rocket lipgloss sounds kind of pointless, maybe cool for bachelorette party favors? :) LOL, and the Placenta hair treatment? I'll pass. But the Japanesque eyelash curler sounds perfect for my already naturally long lashes & I like the idea of Smashbox's "intuitive" lipgloss! I'd think the Maybelline Fit Me line would jump on that idea, honestly! Overall, interesting article! :)

All interesting products, except the Pocket Rocket lipstick. Pretty ridiculous. I have used a heated eyelash curler for years, and it really does work much better than a traditional eyelash curler.

The hair twister product is the bomb! I have had mine for over a year, I compare it to the threading process but much cheaper. Best time to use it is out of the shower when your pores are open and your skin is moist! I ordered mine off eBay!

The lip pumper/sucker thing is just too weird, i would rather user the placenta thing..not Also the bust lady said she went from 34B to 36B what that does even mean, just that she got larger chest cage not cup size..unless of course..she is using the wrong bra...

Placenta hair stuff?! GROSS. And some of these products "work" (in that they're decent for that kind of product) but don't necessarily do what they claim to do. Pocket Rockets claim to have pheromones in it (on the tube it says "rub here for your pheromone fix," which I'm skeptical about). They're great glosses, some of my favorite, but don't do anything in terms of pheromones.

Not sure I understand why Pocket Rocket is on this list, it's just a lip gloss right? How can a lip gloss not "work"? Sure, there might be things you don't like from a lip gloss like stickyness but it still works. Can you wash the pad on Oscillation Perfection? That's a breading ground for bacteria otherwise... I'd like to try the henna just to amp up my hair color a tad, it's already red but boosting the color wouldn't hurt.

You can also mix baking soda in your shampoo to clarify hair and put on a shower cap and use a blow dryer when you deep conditioning treatment it penetrates way better.

Smashbox's O-Gloss sounds pretty neat. I used to have a lip stick when I was around 7 that would go on bright, forest green then slowly fade to a deep berry color. Kind of reminds me of it! :]
