Best: Supersmile Professional Whitening System, $36

What it is: a paste and gel that is brushed on teeth, a toothbrush, a mouth rinse and chewing gum for touchups
How long it takes: 10 days
Pros: "I had no sensitivity, which I have had with similar products (like Crest Whitestrips) and I noticed results within a day. After using the product for 10 days my tooth color [changed three and a half shades]." -- Robin, tester

Here is an interesting product that has gotten great reviews from my girlfriends. It fixes the one problem with coffee and tea. BEFORE they stain. Pretty ingenius. and it slowly whitens...gently. It's called WhiteShield for Coffee (&tea)

Nice to know which products don't deliver. I also love Arm & Hammer Advanced White toothpaste. It's not from a traditional "beauty" line, but it absolutely works to brighten teeth.

I LOVED the Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips, no sensitivity like I would get with all other strips/whiteners. However I can't find them anywhere any longer. I searched the internet and the only place that actually have them is a store on Amazon but they are selling them for almost triple the regular price. Does anyone know where these can be purchased?

The Listerine Whitening Strips were great, no sensitivity or pain whatsoever which is unusual for me. However, you cannot find them anywhere. i checked Amazon and the only place selling them is charging over $60 per box. Very disappointing that they are so difficult to purchase now. Does anyone know where to find them???

I too bought the plus white 5 minute whitening product. I had heard it was really good only a couple of bucks so I gave it a try. Results were better than the Crest professional white strips and didnt give me any sensitivity like the Crest ones did.

@honeyducote Plus white 5 minute is what I use too...and believe me, not only am I OBSESSED with super white teeth, but I've also tried so many brands and this one is best. For the trays you can buy football guards and fit them just like it says on the container...works wonders.

I love the CVS teeth whitening brush. You can apply it to as many teeth as you wish. It doesn't hurt either. In a few days I saw a dramatic different. Doesn't take long to dry either. I have tried the strips from named brands, but they hurt badly.

I go to a dentist in Austin (http://www.jollyvilledental.com) who recommended I use the trays for the best experience (without undergoing a professional treatment). Thanks for the reviews of the whitening trays. It's nice to know which work and which are uncomfortable to use over time.

I am amazed at the systems that you are calling "so-so" They are producing 4 plus shade changes which is huge for a whitening product. If you were only going for ease of use and no sensitivty then the ones you call the "Best" would be fine. If you are looking for shade changes then you are way off. Need to remind all consumers to check with their Dentist before starting these products, if there is sensitivty there is a reason and it can be avoided with help from your DDS.

All the product mentioned are well known brand names. I purchased, from Walmart, Plus White 5 minute speed whitening gel and believe me it works just as well as those big name brands but costs only $7 or $8 dollars. You do have to provide your own molded teeth thingys but luckily I had some from a dental procedure years ago.
