Totalbeauty.com put El Paso at the top of their list back in 2009 as well; Boring! Try some different cities, mix it up a bit. Check out Las Cruces New Mexico, where I live; El Paso can't hold a candle to these guys! It's like they are all from the same branch, of the ugly tree!

I lived in El Paso all my life and remember when the city actually had more attractive people. My only conclusion: Immigration of indigenous Mexicans from Southern Mexico. They are shorter and have a slightly prehistoric bone structure. With years of peasantry new immigrants overindulge here in America and pack on pounds on their already small frames. Pudgy fingers, big faces, waists etc. The taller fairer skinned Euro Mexicans of Northern Mexico no longer immigrate to El Paso like back then. Many Anglos have long deserted the city as well. No diversity here. It's harder to find pretty, handsome and especially thinner people here. Long gone are the days when El Paso actually did have some of the most attractive people in the nation.

as far was what they said about miami, there are a lot of immigrants here, which is porbably why not a lot of men have a high education. also, yes we have great weather compared to the rest of the country, but we dont think so. it's so HOT,people dont want to go outside and get a heat stroke. lots of people go to gyms here instead of run outside. usually people that i see running outside are white people from up north lol

Haha. As much as I hate agreeing with the shallow this is somewhat true. I moved to Alabama from NYC when I was 15 and at 20 years old I'm still a virgin, not because I couldn't get a bf but because I wasn't the least bit attracted to anyone. Since then, I've traveled through all of these cities at least once and came in contact with natives of these towns in college and I'm still not impressed.

Texas has one terrific quality in all its men, fat, thin, young, old, educated or not. By and large they are gentlemen with the instinctive good manners towards women I never find in the self-involved, pseudo-hot guys in places like New York or Colorado or California! Flying out of Houston I never lack for help getting my bag in the overhead bin, doors are held for me and smiles greet me every day. A toned bod is nothing without a loving soul!!

I wonder where they got their information. I have been all over the world and it seems that every city or state or country has ugly men or vise versa women. But in God eyes we are beautiful to him. He is the one who created men an women. I don't know why you would rate any city regarding who has better looking men or women. I don't think they did enough research for this article, especially for Texas. I don't know about El Paso, but the part I grew up in, the men were cowboys, had very good bodies and hearts of gold. Even in their mid 30s to early 40s they looked damn good. I knew one cowboy who looked better than a young Indiana Jones lol. And they were smart enough to know how to take damn good care of their family and homes, which in texas your family is more important than anything else even education. But they are very nice, speak good english, and know how to live. So who cares whether or not they passed highschool? When you're raising cows and taking good care of yourself and family, thats all that matters, no one cares about or needs algebra and physics there, none of that helps your family or livestock. I'll take a cowboy over a rock-star or doctor any day. They need to replace Texas with shit-hole Kansas city Missouri. Have you seen the men AND women here? Most of them are homeless and look like they've been on meth their whole lives. AND even if attractive, the men treat the women like shit. No thank you, I don't care how smart they are, or how much they have in their wallets. I don't think riches are worth unhappiness and bruises. Take me back to Texas where the REAL men are.

It sounds to me like Total Beauty judges beauty by economic status. If you live in an impoverished city, according to total beauty you are ugly. It seems pretty ignorant and a bit ethnocentric on the part of the people who wrote this article. Would you mind adding the source of your data for this study. It seemed to be a disproportioned comparison, especially for Hagerstown's population vs.the larger cities. I visited Hagerstown last year and noticed there were quite few obese women as well as men who chained smoked. The men I encountered were very polite and spoke with a southern accent. I don't think I have ever been Mammed so much in my life. Ugly and education are questionable variables, because we all know brillant,well educated men that are far from handsome. This article sounds like it was written by a teenager. Somewhat funny, but more opinated than factual.

Wow! Let's see....I'm overweight by 30 lbs. But at 20% bodyfat, not hardly obese! I don't have a degree, but I pull in over $70k per year and have over 70 college credit hours in various studies. I don't work out at a gym, but I do work daily on my horse ranch tossing 80 lb bails of hay and working cattle and horses. Teeth, lemme see.....yup, still got em and they still work. They conjure up fabricated illusions to sell products and show no remorse unless it costs them money. Making people feel ugly, is there way of staying in business. I have a profile on MyYearbook dot com (I am Male) and one of my friends posted this article in bulletins, after reading it I came here to see what kind of people would even begin to publish such a shallow and downright mean article. Ever wonder why you do not feel comfortable in your own skin or have trouble in your intimate relations with others ? Do you think happiness is having things, personal wealth or throwing an old lady into the gutter so you can laugh at their misfortune ? I am not sure you understand what shallow is but to me it means an emotionally unavailable, self centered greedy person with a pathological need to belittle other human beings to make themselves feel better. Are you kidding - Houston with ugly men! I lived in NYC and CA, and the men here are very professional and sooooo good looking. Some of these men are so sexy! I was born in South American - I know what good looking is. I have traveled all over the USA and Maryland does not have good looking men. So short, and not very attractive. Also, depending on what you believe - the USA government stats has Houston as #34 for most fit city. Sugar Land ranked in the top 10 of the entire USA. As a CPA, this is a great place if you are a single woman. Other good looking men are located in Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA. Los Angeles not so much, - El Paso either.

I am from El Paso and believe that your survey is a dumb way to rate beauty. I'm dated men from El Paso and they have been some of the most attractive men I've dated. Rating your survey on education makes me feel that you do not understand that El Paso can rank lower in education because it is a border town and the lack of employment opportunities in that town can cause people to struggle to support their family.

I disagree with El Paso having "ugly guys" Have editors for this magazine been to Dallas. Although i agree that El Paso needs to work on the health issue, Im surprised about the education issue in El Paso, two large universities, each with a census of about 20K and many other small universities and colleges in the metro area. Plus, UT El Paso (UTEP) is the fourth in state of texas for research funding. Many hot degreed persons in El Paso.

Actually, I live in El Paso.. a city of about 600,000 people. Yes, there are problems with graduation rates, largely due to the amount of cross border traffic and failure of bi-lingual education initiatives, but we also have the highest rates of hispanic engineering graduates and a significantly higher post-secondary education completion rate than most cities out size. As for the number of gyms, we have over 80 fitness / gym / personal training sites spread out across the city. I don't know where the statistics came from, but with numerous branches of the Y, Curves, HerGym, Planet Fitness, Powerhouse, WorldGym and others, many of which have discounted membership rates and high #'s of active members, I see fewer and fewer overweight guys here. Check your facts again Totalbeauty instead of relying on outdated studies and assigning negative stereotypes to cities that you don't actually have real data for.

As far as El Paso goes, I completely agree with you about the guys being ugly. But as far as the over weight issue, most of the guys in their twenties aren't overweight. Also, we just got a big military population here, most of them fit and satisfactory to look and to bed. Not to mention, we don't have tex-mex! San Antonio has tex-mex, are food is better is better than the crap you find everywhere esle in the country!

Interesting how this website compares a town like Hagerstown (with a population of about 40,000) to large cities like Philidelphia, Houston, and Miami (who have populations in the millions). Why pick on a small town like Hagerstown? It just goes to show how poorly this site gathers information for its lists. I guess it does not matter when the study is conducted by a website that could easily be voted as being in the top 10 Most Superficial/Narcistic/Unimportant Websites on the Net. This site is made up of weak content that is out weighed by gross advertising.
