I really wasn't TOO offended by this article... I have been trying to get rid of my acne and dark circles... but when they mentioned big nose I almost started to cry, because I have a big nose that I've always hated, and contouring really dosn't make it look smaller at all :,\

Too bad I have a few of these, including the big nose. It makes me mad when people mention my big nose, and it makes me want to keep it even more, to prove that I love myself just the way I am, that i'm confident, and i'm slowly learning to love my face. I don't think I should have to hide my big nose under makeup (I do however use makeup to cover acne marks, but the nose makeup idea is just outrageous) just for some guy who should like me just the way I am, and other women should be the same.

This is nonsense. All guys are different and find different things attractive or not attractive. But I don't know any guy that would turn down a girl because of frizzy hair or a few pimples or short fingernails. DIRTY fingernails or poor hygiene maybe I can see, but there are a lot of guys who don't like long fingernails, or think they're gaudy. This article is incredibly superficial. . .

To Total Beauty, feminism was obviously something that happened to other people. What happened to being comfortable in your own skin? If you have wrinkles, acne or an unorthodox nose, odds are, you're probably obsessing about it too much already- far much than any man worth attention would.

this article was disappointing. the jab at the "big nose" seems like an open invitation to a rhinoplasty- and from a site like "total beauty", which celebrates all ideas of beauty, should know better than to write an article like this. women shouldn't have to "downplay" any of their natural features to have to feel accepted by a man. instead we should be proud of what we have and celebrate it .

this really is a self-esteem breaking article. some of these are good tips for helping women correct things that might make them feel less-than-beautiful, but presenting it as "men don't want to see your wrinkles" doesn't seem very productive!

Yeah, men might NOTICE those things about women, but they probably aren't dealbreakers--I NOTICE those things about guys, but wouldn't judge them based on those things. I agree with sophisticateJAE... Embrace your uniqueness! Don't change the way you look just to be with someone. Everyone is beautiful. And, writers of this, I am sure the intent was to focus on the makeup aspect of contouring but this really comes across that men care only about superficial qualities.

These are all things women notice about men too. I have had plenty of guys come up to me and I turn them down because of their appearance or attitude. I think pretty much everyone does it. The big nose thing is kind of weird... OH! I agree with these women. This story is a little crazy. Society already has some feeling insecure or out of place with regard to looks, the last thing we needed to hear was this. We should be trying to send the message that women are all beautiful and set higher standards. A big nose?! Are you serious?! Im personally offended by that one seeing that I have a particularly wide one myself. I thank my mom for not raising a superficial and shallow gal because I LOVE my nose baby! This advide column is depressing to insecure women out there. Women as flawless objects whose only purpose is to live up to an oppressive, superficial male fantasy? If any man actually fits the characterization in this article, he is worthless.
