It's no surprise that esthetician to the stars Olga Lorencin-Northrup has a flawless complexion, so naturally we wanted to find out her skin care secrets. Here's a look inside her personal stash of skin care products

A good chemical peel For your skin to be thoroughly clean, Lorencin-Northrup says the secret is to "peel, peel, peel -- especially if you have a lot of blackheads and acne. Impurities make space for themselves and do not leave on their own. They need an eviction notice." However, she concedes that not everybody can walk into a spa and get a $160 facial on a regular basis, so what's your alternative? Peel and exfoliate at home. "Hold back on scrubs and invest in a really good chemical peel," she says. She recommends Dr. Dennis Gross Skin Care Alpha-Beta Daily Face Peel, $78.

Love the Vitamin C serum and the rest of the items. Taking strong oral doses of Vitamin C (it is virtually non-toxic and any excess is excreted naturally) makes a huge difference in skin.

Very nice variety of products in this article. Minus the Dr. Denis Gross face peel, which has a hefty dosage of alcohol. Which causes free-radical damage, irritation, dryness, and hurts the skins ability to heal. Otherwise, good list.

I'm 58 years old and the best skin product I have ever used is Dr. Dennis Gross' Extra Strength Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel, which she recommends. This product will produce astounding results with the FIRST use. It is my desert island product!!

Great Article, I love Skincueticals, but a cheaper and just as good QUality is Mad Hippie's Vitamin C..it has ferulic in it as well and a very nice texture. You can get it on amazon or OPENSKY mall with a joining credit and it comes out to $20 each or amazon is $27 as opposed to the $145 1 oz CE skincueticals or amazon travel sizes of 6 which combine to add up to 1 oz and stay fresh long because they are less exposed to air.

Agree with her recommendation on SkinCeutical's C E Ferulic - but she forget to mention SkinCeutical's Phloretin CF, another antioxidant, that works real well for skin that tends to be on the normal to oily side and for those with hyper pigmentation. I'm an esthetician and just love these products. I use them and my skin has been transformed! Save your home instead of going out to a club or that shopping spree, your skin deserves it. You get what you pay for in this case =)

especially love most of these products. as a student wish i could find a really good chemical peel that is also at a decent affordable price. also wondering if since i have sensitive skin,if i will react badly to a chemical peel or not.

I give this article a 9 only for and because of CE Ferulic.. I started getting dry skin and rosy red almost eczema like skin in Las Vegas at 29. I went to the #1 rates spa in Vegas at Green Valley Ranch and got a facial geared towards my skin. She used skinceuticals and gave me a few samples of them. Oh gosh it did wonders for my skin. Oh I also was drinking vodka heavily which I found out I'm allergic too. But never the less it WOrked wonders on my skin and cleared me up in no time. I am a firm believer and even though the price has gone up almost 50 bucks it's still a good investment. Though having Vitamin E, helps to neutralize the Vit C from going bad and the oxidation makes it turn orange, it's still good for your skin. I prefer though the sample bottles of 6 you can purchase from salons and even online at Amazon, which I've never had issues with. Just ask for the exp date. They last longer because everytime you ope the bottle oxygen it's it, so with the samples it's equivelant to a reg bottle size at 75% the cost and stays clear longer because you're not exposing the whole thing to air at once. It's a wonder why they don't have a better container for this yet. But never the less It's miracle worker and I use it on my eyelids and under my eyes to prevent bags and circles, and it works Great! A great alternative is also Mad hippie if you don't want to spend this much.

I always use a vitamin C serum on my face. For me, the secret to flawless skin is in taking care of your skin. Make sure your texture is great, go for radiance and the wrinkles and other stuff will follow. Now I do think it's a miss to not mention products that are below the $30 range. I worked for Cle de Peau and I know their concealer is amazing but can't pay nearly $100 for it. What about recommending products in a more realistic range?

The cost of each of these products recommended by a "facialist" are totally unrealistic for average women, especially in the bad economic circumstances most of us are experiencing. It would have been helpful if more affordable substitutions of the expensive products were given.

Since the economy went down the proverbial crapper, I can't see many women ponying up $146 for a SkinCeuticals product. I'm sure that average drugstores have products that are comparable and just as effective as the expensive brand.

These may be her go to products but I'm surprised by her picks. Most are not formulated with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides and peptides. And all of them contain fragrance with is bad for skin. Too bad the article biased toward the advertisers rather than well formulated and affordable products.
