2012 Beauty Trends: What We Loved, Loathed, and Said "Meh" About
Neon strands, velvet nails, hair bows ... the beauty trends of 2012 were on a whole new level. See which ones we crown winners -- and which ones we're totally sick of
Best: Textured nails Fact: It is virtually impossible to log on to Pinterest and not see a nail art photo on your feed. While the level of DIY talent has skyrocketed in the last year, even more refreshing is the unique polishes brands have been rolling out. This year was filled with texture lacquers, such as rubber, velvet, diamonds, and yes, actual gold. We're hoping 2013 brings faux fur, denim, and maybe even pleather.
The textured nails looked nice, I even liked the felt nails until now that I saw a close-up of them...they seemed, meh! As for the bun, I really think that a good bun looks great with denser hair than fine ones. The doughnut bun accessory can also help oomph up your hair to make a great bun, and you can tease the hair to make it messy as desired.
I agree with most of these. I'm not a fan of top buns or textured nails, but I think the hair bow looks pretty cool. Not for daily wear of course. I love the dark lips.
not so sure about those textured nails and high buns. not so thrilling. Hope those dye ends will be gone soon, grown up ladies with 5-year old kid hair is a no-no.
This totally captures the major trends of the year. I hope things like vampy lips and high buns stick around. I am on the fence about textured nails. I love the upswing of nail art, but velvet and fuzzy nails are really off-putting.
