Ojon Rare Blend Oil, $35 Don't be fooled by the mesmerizing layers of color -- this is a serious hair oil. The red oil is from the Ojon nut, and it's high in antioxidants. The clear is Tahitian Monoi oil (coconut infused with Tiare flower), which smells like tropical heaven and protects the hair. And the yellow is Kukui oil, an impressive hydrator. All you need is a few drops -- use it wet or dry -- for impressive results. (Shiny, soft, frizz-free hair -- you know the drill.)

My wonderful experience with John Frieda's "Thermal Protection Serum" has left me open to trying other oils. My hair is far more healthy now, with body and shine. It breaks less often.

Thanks for the info. However, the list has too many products that are mixed with silicones, mineral oil and/or petrolatum. Since silicones and mineral oil and petrolatum block the other 'good' oils from penetrating the hair shaft and they are so cheap to manufacture I can't see paying the prices listed for these "elixirs". The Moroccan Oil line has the same blend as these "elixirs" so I wonder whether it would be considered a nice product as well. As others have stated, it is probably more cost-effective and product wise to go straight to the source and pick up pure maruli, argan, tamanu, coconut, jojoba or extra virgin olive oil, all cold-pressed of course.

Love the descriptions, but additional help would be whether product is OTC (some are obvious) or salon-purchase. Some beautiful and beneficial oils here and I've used quite a few ... wonderful for scratchy, over-processed (ouch), frizzy (tropical weather), sunshiny, but none-the-less, beautiful hair !!!

These all sound really nice. I have super fine hair, but these sound like enough even for me! I've recently begun using body oils, so I might have to venture into hair oils (I'm still afraid of face oils...)

I buy Ion's Inspired by Nature Nourishing Oil Treatment from Sally's Beauty Supply and it works wonders! Its a blend of baruti and passionflower oils that work great together. It is fairly cheap as well. About 10 bucks.

I'm definitely intrigued by hair oils but have such fine hair I worry about them weighing it down or looking greasy really quickly. It would be more helpful to see which hair oils are suited for certain hair types or hair needs.

Thanks for the info! what timing. I was shopping for a hair oil this weekend on line, when my husband said he was leaving to get his hair cut. So, I gave him a peice of paper with the words (Moroccan, and Argan) on it. He came back with matrix Boilage's Exquisite Oil. The words sure fit it. This oil is oure heaven! A Little pricey, but my hair is long and worth it:) Ladies, you gotta try this stuff! AMAZING!

I love oils for my long thick curly hair . My absolute favorites are vatika oil, grapeseed oil and Jamaican black castor oil and there are all inexpensive.

I can't decide which I adore more: Orofludio Elixir or Oscar Blandi Olio di Jasmine. My hair has quite the crush on both products. It's nice to see one salon product here though: I would love to see more.

I don't know about including Motions oil on this list...all of their oil based products are pretty greasy and can get messy. Even coarse hair doesn't need that much product to be moisturized. I looooooooooove argan oil...Josie Maran products are good but you can find nice argan oil products that are much cheaper.

I just bought the Ojan oil and so far I really love it! I've used their products in the past and had great results. I"m not sure why I haven't been using them but this beautiful oil may just lead me back.

At last! Been using Moroccanoil since it appeared on my Hairdressers shelf. A little disappointed u didn't mention it, but I'll forgive u. I have used others, some u mentioned & like them. Just prefer my very own "liquid Gold". Have u tried using it as a Body EVERYTHING ? MY LEGS, ARMS, FEET........All soft as a babies tush! I even use it on my Yorkie ! His very dry skin is now NOT so very dry! And NO, I do not work for them. Maybe I should.. ♥

I have a love hate relationship with oil. Some is too thick for my hair and weighs it down even having thick curly hair and others my hair just laughs at and you cant even tell there's anything in it. That being said, I use coconut oil in my hair and that works fine. You can buy it at Whole Foods and it last forever. It can also serve double duty as body oil. I also use Argan oil from Walgreens. I forgot which brand it is but it works wonders as well.

Two weeks ago, I bought a "Total Beauty Collection" package off of you guys. It contained five types of beauty products. One of which was a hair oil treatment called Alfaparf Milano Cristalli Liquidi Serm. If you are considering this a worthy product to put in your total beauty package, then why didn't it make this hair oil list? Where does the product you sent me rank in your hair oil list?

Most of these don't even have member ratings nor the ratings of the people who tried it. I myself have Always used 100%coconut oil and so does everyone else in Hawaii who wants nice hair. It's much cheaper than all of these and last longer. Also Chi silk infusion is lovely and light.

The best beauty product I've ever used is not included in this list. Moroccaniol is marvelous. Not just because the results are spectcular, but because it's so reliable. Most products stop being so great after a few uses, but Moroccanoil works every time. Shiny, soft, sleek and it never ever looks or feels greasy. Plus, the scent is intoxicating! A small bottle lasts a good long time. Try it ladies!

This is a great article and nice to see different oils highlighted in addition to argan oil. One thing to throw out there though, as a heads up- I've tried several of the more expensive oils mentioned and found them not be better than the less expensive oils on this list. Folks- don't get drawn into the hype that more $$$$ means a better product. With these oils, its not necessarily true.
