Tip 1: Don't worry about your nailsQuestion: Should I bother getting a manicure before our first date? Are you looking at my nails?
Answer: "You should do it if it'll make you feel sexy and confident. But unless you're sporting horrific nail fungus, have a forest of knuckle hair, or get blinking neon rhinestones embedded in your nails, guys won't really notice your nails all that much."
this article is an excellent reminder that beauty maintenance, not more product, is everyone's best bet. I grew up with 2 brothers and learned a LOT by listening to them "critique" women around us....LOL. Just too funny!
i get most of my tips from my brother- one of the most important one was: don't wear anything that wouldn't be naturally possible, like glitter or fuschia lipstick!
I don't know about the common sense comment. It kind of reminds you that you tend to over think and worry about the little stuff. I enjoyed it. Men really won't notice the little stuff.
Cute article! I think we tend to fixate on some things too much. It was a good reminder about not sweating the small stuff (and not OVERDOING things!).
Some of this is just common sense. I don't think the average woman walks around super hairy everywhere with a unibrow and alligator skin. And every guy is different, I'm sure if you ask him what he likes he will just tell you. I know guys who hate makeup and others who prefer you do SOMETHING to yoursef before you walk out the door.
Question: I spend extra time in the shower shaving off everything. Is any body hair a turn off?
Answer: "Depends where it is. Shave your legs and pits. Your ... area is more up to you as long as it's kempt."
LOL - loved this answer - so funny. Your 'area' needs to be 'kempt'! ROFL I do hope the respondents then do their own version of man-scaping and are 'kept' as well. Good grief!
This one's on the mark. One thing I hear guys talking about is long hair. It's like they are crazy over long hair, but mine is all talk. He usually doesn't even notice when I cut mine unless it is extremely different. I think most guys prefer a natural look.
I take this with a huge sense of humor so don't get the wrong idea when I say this. I think it's exhausting how guys throw contradicting ideas ALL the time when it comes to how they want women to look and act. They say "don't worry about taking an hour to get ready" yet they cringe at the little details that are skipped because they think "that girl doesn't take care of herself if she doesn't do that". This goes along with the maaany other ideas "I want her to be fit but I want her to eat hearty." etc. COME ON!
Solid advice... but nothing too surprising. And every guy is different. It's not worth going out of your way to look just the way he "likes," do what makes you feel good about yourself.
This was a fun read. I don't know for myself as I don't have a date, but the info seemed pretty solid. I plan on sending it to my sister and see what she thinks. She'll probably get a kick out of it and say it is funny too.
Hahaha so true and so funny, but still I love to do all that pampering stuff. And i do know my man loves to watch me take time putting on my lotion after I shower..tmi..hehe
This is common sense stuff! How old is the guy questioned?Date or no date, I would not go anywhere looking orange and having a uni-brow! Over all pretty amusing.
Really thoughts were usefull. However, most of these are common sense if your experience. If you new to all the dating, I would highly recommend newbies to listening to this. I the eye brow one was really funny.
Way to go Ky! Couldn't have said any better myself. As much as the ladies don't want to hear it, guys can give you some decent advise when it comes to making yourself appealing to us. As in any case, guys don't want a girl who "over does it". Keep it simple. Avoid the tranny looking eye lashes, unhealthy looking tan, caked on make-up, perfume that I restricts me from breathing and hairy legs, and you'll be alright.
Always great to hear from a man's perspective. I completely agree about the soft skin. I have always been good about moisturizing and keeping my skin smooth. That has always been the number one comment i get from dates...about how soft my skin is.
