Clear Skin 101: Get Rid of Acne Scars

Didn't see anything about chemical peels. Anyone have any knowledge about whether or not those can help acne scars? Thanks!

Consuming a great daily vitamin, along with strong C and B Vitamin supplements can have a great effect on your skin. So can drinking water--lots and lots of it. It plumps tissue and helps scarring to be minimized.

I recently discovered extra virgin (cold-pressed) tamanu oil at mynaturalbliss, and have been using it for the last month, and has really helped fade old acne scars, and it's very inexpensive!

I use this stuff called Tazorac, which you can get with a prescription at a Derm's office, and it's a retinol cream that takes off layers of skin, which gets rid of acne scars slowly.

Even though I like this article, I will stick to the products I am using. I suffered with acne from 14-29, dark spots all over my face and sunken skin and all. My gyn game me something to help control my hormones-can't think of the name right now-I stopped breaking out and I was left with the scars. I found Palmer's Skin Success for Even tone skin. Its a bar of soap that I started using once a day. After about 2 months, the more prominent ones started to disappear. The only reason I kept using it was becuase I actuall started to see the results myself AND so did everyone else. I still have some stubbon scares on my cheeks but they are slowy fading and now resemble freckles as opposed to scars. The nurse in the doctors office even asked me what I was using! So I guess it works for me.

I used Clean & Clear for about two years before discovering the DDF Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Oil Control Gel. It may seem expensive but it lasts for 2-3 months...the Clean & Clear tube is so small it only lasts a week.

I am in my 30's and have fallen in love with Clinique Advanced Matte Concealer. It covers my acne, old scars and discolorations including dark circles. Not to mention the fact that if you don't like it, you can return it. Fabulous!

Clean&Clear actually Gave Me Acne/ Pimple Breakouts as well. I Never had a pimple until my early 20's and I have continued to have Breakouts since then for the past 3 years. I have tried what seems like Everything, with little to No Luck... My search for the Right Products and Regimen will continue..

For some reason I never hear about accidental trauma to pimples in articles like these, only about how I should never pick them. For instance, I have had pimples on my face turn purplish as if bruised if I slept with them against my pillow. Other times they start oozing with the slightest accidental touch. Also, I have had painful pimples that didn' t respond to medicines so I had to pop them in order for them to heal any at all, especially if they were in a close group that had skinned over.

I got/get the occational breakouts and not too much picking, but my face still has a few scars. Now I have some sun spots on the top of my lip that is starting to become more visible. Yay for me I guess.

I've had acne for years and have never ever picked a breakout. I have always been careful about not touching my face with my hands or my cell. Yet when I went to a well known dermatologist in Beverly Hills, he had the nerve to ask his students to come in to see a case of severe scarring due to me picking at my skin. I was very offended and told him that I never picked my skin. Apparently my olive toned skin scars very easily and thank goodness retin a is improved the appearance of the acne and the scars.
