is there some way you can make the pompadour WITHOUT teasing? I can just hear my hair breaking with each tease stroke of the brush!

I think the finished look was really cute, but I would use a device or hair piece for height. Another trick is to part the hair where you want the height, fold the hair over into a small bun then add bobby pins according to your hair color. Make another part over top, and lightly brush this hair over the bun you made, then pin.Teasing could cause hair breakage !
