Get Gisele's Sexy Hairstyle

Hi, my name is Rick Farber. Today we are going to do some really long, sexy, beachy waves inspired by Gisele's hairstyle. We are going to give her a little volume and give her a perfect summer look.

So to begin with we are going to spray a little volumizer at her roots and blow-dry it so we get a lot of lift. She's got fairly fine hair and we want to pump it up. So that's step one of how to get this hairstyle. Just lift every section, go through and lightly hit each one. Now, I'm going to go ahead and blow-dry it at the roots to get a little bit of volume.

Now we are ready for our irons. I just want very little curl in this so I'm not going to be taking the whole head. Good to section it off in big wide partings and really concentrate randomly on hitting different pieces. Remember this is a natural look; it's not mean to look like she has her hair curled. I say variable, alternating. I really just want to hit everywhere. So some of the pieces are going to be going to be in one direction, some of them are going to be in another. Some are not going to hit the ends and some are.

Now I'm switching to a smaller iron, because I want to have more variability. She's got such long heavy hair so we really want to build in some nice, natural waves. So I'll hit this section right in the middle, put a twist right there and let the ends drop out. One of the tricks to getting those nice beautiful, lifted bangs like she has is to go in and grab a vertical section right off the part. Do small sections, hit it with the spray and take the barrel of your iron and just put it right down at the root and just pull the hair over it. So you can kind of stretch it and lift it. Just work that, so you start to build up a nice wave. Then to pull it away from her face, take the same section you just lifted and just bend it once over. Don't fully curl it and then just slide it out. You get that nice soft wave back.

She's got a bit of spray in this so she doesn't really need a lot more hold. So what we are going to do now is give her hairstyle some separation and some shine. What I'm going to do is in two steps. I like to use a spray shine and just mist. Really lightly, just tip your head back and just mist all the ends real softly. Helps take away the fly-always and gives it that nice separated look.

Then I like to take a polishing cream, just a small amount. Rub that between your hands and emulsify it. Flip your hair over or lean it back and just hit the edges softly. You don't want to flatten your hair with this, so you want to use very, very little. Just hit the ends and the loose flyaway pieces. Run your hands all the way through the back of the hairstyle, and give it a good squeeze. You don't have to worry about the shape right now, you're just processing the curls that you've made. That's the look.
