    No Star Product

I totally hate this shampoo because it strips too much moisture out of my hair & makes it tangly & unmanageable. I've found a cheaper & better purifying shampoo & it's Tresemme Purify & Replenish shampoo. It removes buildup without stripping out moisture, makes my hair soft, plus it has a light smooth citrus fragrance to it. — 1 year, 5 months ago

    Dries out my hair

I'm surprised at all the glowing reviews. This leaves my hair feeling coarse and big and strips it of its natural oils. I can't do anything to make my hair look good after using this. — 1 year, 5 months ago

    Definitely pleased with this

This is the only clarifying shampoo I've used, so I can't compare it to anything else, but I definitely am pleased with the results. I've seen a few lower ratings stating it's too strong for everyday use, but keep in mind that is the point. You're only supposed to use it about once a week to get rid of build-up, so it is strong. I use it less than that, because I don't use a lot of product, so it lasts a REALLY long time, and is a great value. I'm not crazy about the smell - but it does the job for sure. When you feel your hair seems more resistant to shampoo than normal - it's time to whip this out. It basically strips away ALL buildup and grime. Keep in mind, you have to use a good handful, because it doesn't quite lather the same as a normal shampoo. All in all, it works great for once-in-a-while grime attack. — 1 year, 6 months ago

    Ok...

I've used much better clarifying shampoos in the past, but this did at least get my hair clean....but it smelled like old cigarettes or something! Will not repurchase. — 2 years, 1 month ago

    Best clarifying shampoo

I love this product, it does a great job at clarifying my hair without leaving it dry and stripped. I use it only once a week and when I wash I scrub it in for a good 2 minutes. I wear my hair curly everyday and I need a LOT of product to do it but at the end of the week I can wash it all out thoroughly with this. MUST HAVE FOR ANY HAIR TYPE! — 2 years, 1 month ago

    I love it

I absolutely love it. I use it one per week and my hair looks so much better, not at all brassy or oily anymore. -one thing people tend not to realize is that sulfate free shampoos do not lather- so it does not "lather well" because it isn't supposed to — 2 years, 2 months ago

Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo Cleans the YUK Out of Your Hair

Many people resort to styling products and lots of hair spray to keep their hair styles, intact. But the downside of using a lot of product is that, over time, they tend to build up and coat your hair, making it dull and sometimes, even sticky. And, if you get a pricey blow-out and then don't wash your hair for a while, natural oils, plus dirt and other pollutants, can also coat your hair and make it hard to clean thoroughly. But one product that has been on the market for 30 years, quietly sitting on store shelves, can help: it's Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is just $5.99 for a 6 oz, bottle. This shampoo looks nearly clear in it's minimalist, plastic bottle, but it can help remove all kinds of styling products, shampoos and conditioners, dirt, yuk, gunk, spray...whatever is coating your hair and making it dull. Although I can't quantify this claim, Neutrogena says that the shampoo used once a week can remove 90% of dulling residue build-up, instantly. The shampoo is super-foamy with that Neutrogena fresh scent. There are no artificial dyes or colorants. Neutrogena says it is good for all hair types and it is fairly mild. However, if you have fresh color on your hair, you might not want to use it. If you do, use it only when your hair really needs it--maybe bi-monthly (or consult with your hair colorist before using any clarifying shampoo). Because my hair is colored, I let my husband try this product. He LOVED it --the foam, and the soft, clean, shiny results. While his opinion is just that--his opinion--I could see the difference in how his hair looked and felt. The evidence was undeniable. In case you want to know what is in this product, here are some of the key ingredients: Water, ammonium lauryl sulfate, cocamide dea, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerin, imidazolidinyl urea, methylparaben, propylparaben, citric acid, fragrance.... You can find Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo at your favorite mass market retailer or online at http://www.neutrogena.com/ — 2 years, 5 months ago
