Color could be better
I was a huge fan of Clinique's City Stick and have been looking for a good stick foundation I had high hopes for this. It is creamy, provides decent coverage and lasts the day. It is reasonably priced. The thing that was the deal breaker for me is that all of the colors are too peachy or orangy for me. Gel like
I forgot that this was supposed to be gel-like foundation. It applies like a liquid foundation in the sense that it goes on smoothly. It's fairly easy to match the shades as the same shades in the matte and dewy lines are also in the stick foundation. I use a stippling brush with this foundation since using my Beauty Blender didn't quite do the job when I was blending. I'm surprised this product doesn't have a higher rating
The first time I wore this at work, I immediately got a compliment from one of the girls about how nice my skin looked. This is funny because I usually use Bare minerals matte face powder on top of my concealer and it costs about $35... and I love it. Easy, quick and flawless.
As with any foundation/cover-up product I always start with my skin type and condition since I find it's really important. I have very pale, 25-year old skin. Originally I had great suspects about Maybelline's Shine-Free Stick - I had never really used anything like it and was concerned as to how to do what with it. However, using it is quick fundamentally effortless. I can apply the stick quickly in the morning and am very pleased with it's coverage and color. It blends in perfectly with my skin tone and I don't have to worry about it until the end of the working day. I'm also pleased with how matte the product is! This foundation stick is the worst foundation i have ever tried, heres why! First of all this has very very light coverage, this creases under my eyes, it feels weird on the skin, it does nothing on my skin. It does not keep you from getting shiny at all. Perfect for humid weather!
I had watched a couple reviews of youtube before buying this product and one major comments was on its light to medium coverage. Living in an extremely humid climate, foundation is just annoying to wear. If the coverage is too thick it feels like a sweaty mask when the day is over. If the texture is too thin it wears off. decent.....not long lasting
I am a fan of maybelline products because they deliver whats promised. After the BB from this lineI was crazy to try this new product. My shade of choice was 220 (medium beige) and I think it was ok. The coverage is slightly sheer but buildable...although I need to be careful because if I overdo it I can look cakey...not good!
