Great Palette
I discovered the Nyx line when I received a flyer from ULTA. I must say I am very impressed with this eye shadow palette. I have hazel eyes, and purples really make my eyes pop. This palette is half the price of Urban Decay, which I have purchased for years, and has the same pigmentation and staying power without a primer! I suggest you take a look at what NYX has to offer. After I purchased this, I went trolling through Amazon and found a makeup kit for the eyes and face. Also, I couldn't resist and purchased the Dark Shadows Collection which is like a book that has eyeshadows and blush for the different looks of the 3 main characters from the movie. This Palette is a Winner!
A friend of mine told me about NYX a few years ago. I tried a palette in hues of brown (with shimmer and matte finishes) and could not have been more pleased. It's hard to go wrong when working with these satiny, blendable colors, as they are chosen to work perfectly together. They are well-pigmented and last a very long time, especially with NYX's wonderful HD primer. Pretty good!!
I have the 5 color shadow palette of the Caribbean Collection I Dream of Barbados. And I immediately liked it. I don't like wearing any eye shadows that make me look like a raccoon, or that make me look like I'm trying too hard. If you look in my cosmetics bag you will find that I love pink, lilac, purple and bronze colors for my eye shadows. I was happy to see that most of the colors in the palette were those! So I put it on and I loved the way they shimmer. Nothing too showy, and it doesn't attract too much attention. I love this palette, and the mirror is just a plus. My favorite shade that this palette has is the pink one, the one in the middle. My skin is kind of yellow/brownish, and it makes me eyes pop up! I DREAM OF ARUBA
This was my first nyx palette. The colors are gorgeous and summery and really compliment my blue/green eyes. These are so soft and smooth and creamy! I learned exactly why everyone loves nyx shadows so much. For the price, you really can't beat the quality. The colors blend well, look great and don't transfer from my crease to my lid like some super soft shadow can. They last all day with a primer and stay pretty pigmented throughout. A little goes a long way as they are pretty pigmented. I bought another one of these palettes for my friend and she loves it as well. Great colors, good blendability, but less pigmented.
I loved the color story in the palette, starting with a slightly shimmery tan, a slightly shimmery cream, a shimmery grey, a brown with olive tones, and a black. NYX 5 Color Shadow-I Dream of St John
If you want to do a smokey eye this is the palette to get. There is a white, silvery color, black, grey, charcoal. The lighter colors have a nice shimmer to them. When I put the black on I liked that it was very rich in color. I like the white color, perfect for the inner corner of the eyes to brighten and open up your eyes from the dark eye. Even if I don't do a smokey eye, I'd use the white, it goes on nicely. All the colors blended well and I was happy with my smokey eye. 5 Color Palette
I have the Caribbean Collection I Dream of Barbados. I truly LOVE this set. The shadows are creamy, very pigmented and are in opaque, rich colors. Nice color pay off
These have a nice color payoff and are not as soft as their single shadows. Most of the colors are also either satin or matte which is great. 5 Color Shadow Palette- I Dream of Barbados
I love this palette! I may be biased because it has purple in it and purple is my favorite color BUT it is a really pretty combination of colors. It has purplish gray, black, pink, silver/gray, and bright purple as the colors in it. I would use this to make a smokey eye for going out at night. Its not really an every day palette but, its fun to play dress up with it. The lighter purple could really work for daytime on its own.
