My stylist said I could use this alone or before other products. When I used it alone I found that my curls were not completely under control but when used before mouse or gel it did help to keep my curls together and silky, It did not really help with frizz, however, I do have a lot of hair and its down to my waist so maybe if I used 4 or 5 squirts it may work better. This is a good product to use on 2nd day curls to freshen them up.
