Not all it's cracked up to be. :(
So just like many reviewers here, I received this as a sample that they were pushing last month online. I was more than excited when it arrived. I'm a mascara freak! Love it. Layer it. It's the one would-not-be-without beauty product for me. I have long, thick, black, double-layered lashes on top and bottom. I'm genetically blessed...but I LOVE playing it up and receiving complements on my ...read morelashes. My objective with a mascara is to lengthen, thicken and darken my lashes without it rubbing or falling off and without giving me a "fake" too-thick and clumpy look. I was excited about trying this for my summer mascara while on the beach, at the pool or just out in the heat. I was pretty disappointed with this. It didn't rub or fall off...in fact my best eye makeup remover wouldn't budge it!!! Not good. Plus, while it had a great brush, the application was gloppy and my lashes were really lengthened...but not thickened. They were glossy and black (which is good), but really missed on the thickening end of things. We've converted!
When we read about the new Clinique Lash Power Mascara Long-Wearing Formula challenge to brides to wear the mascara and swim, watch sappy movies, cut onions, walk on a windy day--we were intrigued. Clinique promises the mascara will stay in place through all of these and come off with warm water no heavy scrubbing required. Could it be the solution to our concealer problem? When we opened the tu...read morebe, we were skeptical. The wand was practically anorexic compared to our old stand by, Dior Show. (Dior Show is on the right. Clinique is on the left.). It couldn't possibly give us the long full, lashes we love. But we put it on and it did! Passed test #1. We used our concealer-no powder on top- and set off for our job on a windy spring day. The result: When we got home, we were raccoon eye-free. It washed off in the shower without any rubbing or special eye makeup remover. Not impressed
I ran out and tried this mascara, as I have a major problem with flaking. First I did not like the ultra thin wand. But more importantly, it flaked like all the others ! I was very disappointed,and actually meant to return it, but never got to it. In fairness, I have long lashes that hit the skin under my eyes, so I tend to have problems with all mascaras flaking. It might work better for a person with shorter lashes. Clinique Lash Power Mascara
I absolutely love this mascara. It made my lashes so full, easy to use and very light, not heavy like most mascaras. I had no problem getting it off with my eye make up remover. new love
After trying many mascaras, from inexpensive to luxury ones, finally I found my favorite. This one does not smudge - it stays on for a long time without any racoon effect! My lashes looks thicker and a bit longer (I use a primer and then one coat of Lash Power). I love this stuff
First - I have average lashes. Average length, volume, somewhat straight...not as dark as i would like. I love the brush on this stuff. It lets you get all the little tiny lashes at the corners. It darkens nicely, and lengthens and volumizes - but I would only rate it as good on that front. It's not super dramatic, especially with volumizing, but it's good for an every day mascara.
