For the most part this makes for a great lip gloss - pretty absolutely natural colors, sweet shine, wonderful orange citrusy flavor...BUT the texture is what drops this lip gloss down to the bottom of my list. I don't know if it's the silica or what but the gloss is grainy and feels like little buts of sand are scraping your lip. April 22, 2008, 8:13 am

I have Nectar Nude and this gloss IS very shiny. A bit on the tacky side but not bad at all. Definitely less stickier than my NARS lip gloss in Babe. The shine as well as color doesn't last very long. About 30 minutes on my lips w/out eating nor drinking anything but still leaves the lips feeling soft and smooth. The only thing I don't like about this lip gloss is the container, which makes application imprecise. I have to spread the product around with either my fingers or a lip brush to get an even coat. I really wanted to like this because it's natural, but it just seemed to evaporate and not stay on my lips or do much to hydrate them. I thought it seemed a bit thin, not like a balm at all. It's not sticky at all; it's smoother and the shine does not stay on for long. Maybe I'm just not used to natural lipglosses that don't have polybutene or whatever! October 10, 2008, 9:40 pm

I really like most of Burt's Bees products, but the Super Shiny Lip Gloss is not up to the high standard I'm used to from the product line. The gloss is very shiny which looks great with the paler, more neutral colors. The flavor and scent is appealing. I just find it too sticky and the formula fades quickly. I had really high hopes for this gloss. The colors are great and I personally do not think that it feels or tastes or smells funny. Unfortunately, I am allergic to this product. I ended up giving it to a friend because after a week of using it almost every day, my lips became super chapped an broken out, sensitive and red. Exactly the same way they do when I use Victoria's Secret brand glosses. Major bummer. August 22, 2008, 12:04 pm

I absolutely LOVE this lip gloss. Everything about it is great. I never would have thought that a NATURAL gloss could deliver the way this one does. I have the zesty red, and when my friend gave it to me as a gift, I was skeptical. I'm not big on shades of red for my lips, but it actually came on more sheer and glossy and looked beautiful when I put it on! And it is NOT sticky at all. It feels very light on the lips. People who prefer sticky glosses probably won't like this one as it is a bit more slippery. I also loved the smell and taste, which didn't come off artificial at all.
The only reason I gave it a 9 was because it's lack of staying power. At best, it stays on for a few hours, leaving behind only a trace of color after the shininess disappears. Reapplication would probably be necessary.
