Hallelujah!
I have ultra fine hair that resists all efforts to volumize. Turns out I was going about it the wrong way: I needed this product to fatten up all my strands, not a spray that only targets the roots. I have wavy hair that I can either blow dry straight or scrunch into curls. I'd get these beautiful little ringlets, but they'd be totally flat, so I gave up on curly hair. Then I tried this lotion. Wow! Great for African American hair
Listen, I am not good with defining my hair in terms of types. It is possibly 3b? What ever the category is, my hair is very inconsistent in texture as it is between naturally curly, wavy and several cowlicks. I purchased this lotion a whim and i promise to continue having a bottle on hand until the end of my life. I have natural hair but it is very troublesome. I've tried every natural hair product marketed to AfAms and besides Shea Moisture products ( which are fab but tend to lay on top of the hair) this thickening lotion is tops. After years of trying to remain natural, by investing in braids; which took my temples out, I started to wear weaves. The reasons behind wearing weaves was to let my hair rest while trying to thicken it back after braid and temple damage. In the end, I simply decided against it all, as it didn't work. Again, all the AfAm products designed to thicken the hair failed and left my hair weighted down and greasy. I tried this lotion, determined to return it as it couldn't possibly work on "my kind of hair" and it isn't organic. Well excuse my French, but f' that noise because this product has not only thickened my hair unequal the culturally marketed products never could but it also doubles as a curl enhancer and minimized frizz. The product also leaves my hair silky. I know this review is long winded as I could have simply say, " I love this lotion!" This product deserves more than the gauge review. Redken never stop making this product. This product junkie has finally found a hairstyle and product that suits her. Hate to burst your bubble
I bought this and I can tell you that I noticed nothing at all. I put this on my wet hair , after a shower and when my hair finally dried the product just left it crispy feeling. Great product!
Loveeee this product! It does what it says. It not only gives volume at the roots but makes hair feel thicker. So unlike most root lifters or shampoos that claim volume and eventually goes flat....this lotion somewhat coats the hair (not in a gross waxy way) and remains thick. Ive found that I dont have to wash my hair the next day and still have that thickness and some volume. Falls Flat
I'm not sure why this works for everyone else and not for me, but I've varried the amounts I use and I still get bad results. It seems to work at first and then within ten minutes my hair just falls flat and becomes very stringy and knotty. One of my fav styling products!
I have thin, flat hair with no live to it at all. However this product works wonders makes my hair more voluminous, thicker and full of body. I also have very oily ahir and this does not make it oily by the end of day nor weigh my hair down.
